Indeed it would've been a fight with Alonso, just before his gearbox issue he was chasing Alonso by only 2.2s, where it was 4,9 just after the pitstopsEric_Cartman wrote:without Hamilton's penalty it would have been a close fight for 3rd place with Alonso. With a good start he could probably even challenge Webber for 2nd place.

For anyone who cares, sorry about lack of driver ratings - got consumed by BTCC

Agree with u Wolfie. People are being hard on him. Cant expect him to be right behin Alonso. the days of Michael having a dominant Ferrari with Barrichello tagging along are not there nowWolfie wrote:Baboy wrote:I'm also disappointed with Massa's performance, he shouldn't have qualified so bad, but truth be told Rosberg didn't leave him room on the track while they were side by side. Either he crashes out Rosberg, or goes on the grass and hopes not to crash anyone out. Didn't turn out. Massa is far from satisfying this year but let's not criticise him for things he didn't have fault in.
Sadly the memory changes quickly, all of a sudden it's forgotten that Massa has actually been put to place and has nothing to fight for - I think the team let him down so the team might not be as high on his list as it was before.
Massa is performing like a driver no 2 is expected to perform and he gets too much critisism - even when he wasn't at fault
Re: Japanese Grand Prix 2010 *SUPER SUNDAY*
Massa is a good driver, he's just having a bad season, a recovery season in some ways, after that awful accident in Hungary last year.
Ferrari are very much a team with a "No. 1 driver + No. 2 driver" culture and it seems that Massa is losing out as the team adopt Alonso as the "No. 1 driver". It wouldn't surprise me if Massa isn't at Ferrari next year.

For years, Webber had his fair share of bad luck and Hamilton enjoyed a great deal of it in terms of mechanical retirements or accidents. Now, it's the other way around, karma if you will. It will be a perfect retirement gift for Webber to be WDC. Though I want Vettel to be crowned but his time will come, he's still young. But Webber... This season must be his year. Now, I really want to see Webber to win it. Next year, with level playing changes, I don't know RBR7 will be that much of a superior car.
That said, we will have an enormous battle in years to come with the courtesy of Vettel, Hamilton and Alonso. Those guys are really exceptional, from a highly superior breed. Those bastards will create terrific seasons to watch for us. I hope engineers would be in the same league with them while designing robust and quick cars. Let them fight, then!

I completely agree with you on the second part

not sure that it was posted:
Ted Kravitz from pit lane:
1. Eric Boullier said that not one of the wheels on Kubica's car were tight enough. All of them were loose.
2. Kubica said that he was driving almost 70% of the lap one-handed - to operate the F-duct

Re: Japanese Grand Prix 2010 *SUPER SUNDAY*
Interesting comments made by Christian Horner about Button being a "sacrificial lamb" for Hamilton.
Did make some sense after considering the many laps that Button spent on the prime tyre while it was clear that the option was much faster, and the reluctance of the team to bring him into the pits. Even he had his doubts.
At some point in time, Mclaren and Red Bull have to decide which driver to support for the driver's championship.
If not, it may all end in tears..

Oh yeah, definitely. I hope Renault could produce something worthy for Kubica.JoostLamers wrote:+ Kubica?Ali wrote:That said, we will have an enormous battle in years to come with the courtesy of Vettel, Hamilton and Alonso.

Sounds like Horner is trying to rattle some cages at McLaren

I don't know if it has been discussed yet but apparently Vettel made a sort-of jump start:
