Best Driver
Alonso. Lap after lap of pushing, centimetres away from walls, in order to record a Grand Chelem, in the process beating a faster car. Amazing.
I feel obliged to mention Vettel and Kubica also, but frankly, I feel no one deserves to take this away from Alonso.
Best Team
Red Bull's stonking pace. Also great work by Ferrari in mirroring Red Bull's stop.
Best Overtake
Kubica on Petrov. It was so well worked. Kubica definitely gets the best racecraft award for his consistent brilliance.
Best Moment
Kubica's spree. The last lap was also immensely tense.
Worst Driver
Glock, for consistently being awful to lap. He was the villian of the piece in the Hamilton Webber incident. He set it up, when really, Hamilton should have been nowhere near getting a decent tow. He had no bearing on their decision to both go for the same piece of track, but he definitely set it up.
Worst Team
Dunno really. In terms of team pace, probably Macca. In terms of driver combined performance, the
Virgins.
Best Rookie
Hulk maybe?
Biggest Surprise
Hamilton going out for a second consecutive retirement. That's never happened before. Last 4 races = 25 points. Alonso = 68 points.
General Comment
It was kind of nuts. Incredibly tense and some of the drivers seemed as if they were under some kind of mental stress or strain, because much of the racecraft drivers like Hamilton, Webber and Schumacher are supposed to possess was non-existent today. All in all it was very fun indeed.
