Signor Turrini's thoughts after qualification:
Alonso's sad Saturday

Published by Leo Turrini Sat, 28/08/2010 - 15:46

I'm going to make a personal set for once. I think that tomorrow Alonso has the opportunity to prove those wrong, who on this blog think that he is an overrated driver, especially in comparison with his predecessors (Schumacher and Kimi). Let me explain. It's well known that in Belgium you can win even from behind. Still 10th in qualifying is a disaster and the comparison between Fernando's and Hamilton's last attempt is embarrassing. Come on...

1) El Banco said in the chat after qualifying that he blamed the defeat on a number of different circumstances, the crazy weather, tyres, etc.. From a human point of view I understand. But excuses are pathetic.

2) Massa, who sank the captain with a stopwatch in his hand, was more blunt. Felipe said: the truth is that on the dry McLaren and Red Bull serve us beer. From the tap maybe.

3) Massa has also pointed out that if he would be ahead of Fernando tomorrow, he would do anything to keep him behind. I don't know whether to laugh or to cry.

4) Hats off to the Kangaroo. Webber apparently feels he has the opportunity of a lifetime at hand. If he continues to not make mistakes then in the end he will make it.

5) If we talk about 'only' drivers, then the Black (Hamilton) made a huge impression on me. Kubica sucked out all the blood from the yellow turnip Renault, which is not a missile.

6) The old German uncle was less embarrassing than normally. 11th with the Mercedes is decent. Does it make sense that it's such a hard work to keep up with Hulkenberg?

7) This Grand Prix is the classic lottery. Just a sudden pour of rain changes the situation.

8) Because of this Alonso could make it. It's pretty sad though that a driver who has never been on this circuit was better than him. Perhaps it's just a coincidence and of course it's forbidden to discredit him.

9) I understand less and less Vettel to be honest.

10) I say goodbye to you because I have to write for the newspapers.

Take care.
To be changed soon - rko281, where are you??? LOL

It's gonna be quite close battle from victory between Webo and Hamilton... Well to me it's all the same which of those two drivers wins, as long as Alonso doesn't win it.

One key point for tomorrow could be that in conditions when it was getting wetter or on a drying track, the McLarens - Hamilton in particular - were very fast...

I just have to say poor ol' Petrov. Not even half a lap before he binned it. :(

well the 1st year is always tough - no matter witch motorsport - ask Raikkonen for WRC
he probably rolled it more time than he won F1 races
