2010 Großer Preis Santander von Deutschland

Post by phil1993 » 12 Jul 2010, 19:51

2010 Großer Preis Santander von Deutschland
It will be held in Hockenheim, Germany on July 25, 2010. This will be Michael Schumacher's first race in his home country Germany since the 2006 German Grand Prix after coming out of retirement this year. This will also be Mercedes GP's first home race as a works team since returning to the sport after a 55 year absence and buying out the Brawn GP team.

After the success of the Canadian Grand Prix, tyre supplier Bridgestone announced their intentions to increase the difference in the tyre compunds supplied for the race. Instead of bringing compounds "one step" apart - such as the soft and hard variants - the company elected to bring the extremes in rubber compounds - super-soft and hard - citing the properties of the Hockenheim circuit as being ideal for creating a situation similar to the race in Montreal.

I remember this race because being on holiday in the Netherlands when Montoya won in 2003, and when I was on holiday in Tunesia in 2008 when Lewis did it superb. Bring it on! :)

Pole probably one of RBRs, would be surprised if its not a RBR on pole
1 thing is for sure it wont be boring, cuz here is always action like it was last time, and Lewis did it the hard way to get a fantastic win

Hockenheim never dissapointed

Hockenheim has dissapointed when it had changed its layout... :zz: The old layout wasn't interesting in terms of corners but the races was always exciting! Watching the cars overtaking each other at 350 kph or sliding in the stadium with very low downforce was a pleasure :p

But the new layout always give us good racing and epic scenes and battle! (Montoya - Raikkonen in 2002, start crash in 2003, Button - Alonso in 2004, Montoya's race from 20 to 2nd in 2005, eventful race in 2006 with Raikkonen in pole with a struggling McLaren, a dramatic start, Villeneuve's last race ending with a big crash, Alonso's big off, struggling without the Renaultl's mass dumper, in 2008, Hamilton fights back, overtaking Piquet and Massa for a superb win! )

This year, I think McLaren will be well in this circuit, I expect Hamilton winning here :n .
The speed in the first corner should be enormous, especially with the RedBull !

And if my 'F1' uncle wasn't on holiday that weekend, we would have gone to this GP instead of Monza, probably somewhere in the stadium we would be sitting I think

Mercedes better pull their weight at this race...and that goes for especially for Schumi. I can't believe how he just has both bad luck and silly mistakes.
I s'pose Vettel would wanna win his home gp therefore I expect all the upgrades to be on his car.

yeah the German drivers wanna show a strong result in Hockenheim, everyone wants to get a great result at home gp, but it sometimes goes wrong as Webber proved it in Melbourne

Who will take the pole and win? i expect Hamilton to do the double, though i would like Webber to do it :)
Can Ferrari bounce back? They cant get any worse IMO, but they really need to sit down and take some time for themselves
Is the track perfectly suited to the MP4/25? No. You could say that for Monza though
What can the new teams achieve? As has happened till now- Nothing!!! :D. but i hope Lotus and Virgin start competing with each other and close up to TR and co.
