I just noticed Petrov was holding a button down on his steering wheel on the straight. Raising the revs to the max maybe? Like a temporary boost?

From the helicopter shot, I think it's clear that Lewis knew what he was doing while overtaking the safety car..
He's not silly, must have calculated the cost of staying behind the safety car.
McLaren like to push the limits of the rules, but I guess at the end of the season luck will even out..
