McLaren: Lewis we need you to save fuel, both cars are doing the same
LH: Jenson's closing in on me you guys
McLaren: Understood Lewis
LH: If I back off, is Jenson going to pass me or not?
McLaren: No Lewis...no
So basically, lewis was asking whether or not the team would implement team orders so he could win the race? He drove a great race, but on that evidence theres no surprise he felt how he did because he didnt fully deserve the win.
It just shows mclaren up again. more team orders, more trying to fix race wins up and prefered drivers.
And before you jumped up lewis lovers here started clawing at me, just remember monaco 2007 and how some people here said lewis shouldve won because he was faster at the end. At least Alonso never asked the team if lewis would attempt to overtake, he had blind faith (foolishly) in mclaren. Not that Alonso was faster through the weekend. So jenson in the end was doing what he did to alonso. Goes around comes around i guess.
Otherwise, well done lewis because you needed a win for your confidence and to save face aswell. I hope you get one or two more in and Id love to see you and alonso battle it out in both Silverstone and Singapore as both are probably the best drivers at those tracks regardless of the performance of the car.
