And the end of Webber at Red Bull
Yeah nice race from Hamilton, he was on it all the time!

But it was Vettels fault, he steered to the right while Webber was still there. Webber kept his line.
Very exciting race for sure!

Maybe this is why Lewis was not celebrating so much: Transcript from conversation between Lewis and the team, taken from the race highlights, before Button attacked him.

McLaren: Lewis we need you to save fuel, both cars are doing the same
LH: Jenson's closing in on me you guys
McLaren: Understood Lewis
LH: If I back off, is Jenson going to pass me or not?
McLaren: No Lewis...no

The bzzzztt was disturbance in transmission , it was supposed to be 'dont'

So basically, lewis was asking whether or not the team would implement team orders so he could win the race? He drove a great race, but on that evidence theres no surprise he felt how he did because he didnt fully deserve the win.

It just shows mclaren up again. more team orders, more trying to fix race wins up and prefered drivers.

And before you jumped up lewis lovers here started clawing at me, just remember monaco 2007 and how some people here said lewis shouldve won because he was faster at the end. At least Alonso never asked the team if lewis would attempt to overtake, he had blind faith (foolishly) in mclaren. Not that Alonso was faster through the weekend. So jenson in the end was doing what he did to alonso. Goes around comes around i guess.

Otherwise, well done lewis because you needed a win for your confidence and to save face aswell. I hope you get one or two more in and Id love to see you and alonso battle it out in both Silverstone and Singapore as both are probably the best drivers at those tracks regardless of the performance of the car.

Alonso was faster during Monaco that year anyway, he still had so much in reserve that had Lewis taken it to him properly, Alonso would have stepped up another notch.

Exactly. And i think at that time, jenson would have had abit more than lewis if this supposed 'fuel save' was true.

But to be honest, i think mclaren wanted jenson to win over lewis which is wrong; lewis was in the tow of the redbulls for much of the race, and according to christian horner (which i take with a pinch of salt now), he said webber was slower because he used more fuel whereas vetel was faster because you save fuel being behind another car.

So from that point of view, was lewis told to back off FOR jenson to have a go at him?

I think that both drivers were told to back off, but Lewis was the only one who was given a target lap time

Thats true and I hope thats right. its just why would jenson need to save fuel at a 'critical' level, when he was on fuel save fora fair amount of the race? I just dont understand the different stories. At least its not as bad as redbulls 50 stories ;)
