Mitsuro Sano wrote:There is a micro climat on every circuit! When it rains, it rains everywhere.... but on the circuit! Maybe because F1 cars generate a lot of heat during the week-end so that the rain can't fall into the circuit ^^

The NASCAR commentators in the US always talk about the "vortex" that the cars create to keep rain away, yet rain somehow seems to still come down despite their best efforts...so as much as I'd like to believe the theory, I doubt it...but rain did make Australia much more interesting, so it wouldn't hurt in my opinion, as long as it's not a monsoon like last year!

Yeah. Looks dry, but rain for quali... There is a predicted storm for the 3 hour window that qualifying runs in.

If it rains and Q2 + Q3 are cancelled, times from Q1 will set the grid.

If Quali cannot run today, it will happen at 0100GMT on Sunday (0900 local)

Stefmeister wrote:Some big monsoon's forcast for about the time of qualifying & the forcast indicates the monsoon weather could last a couple hours.

BBC just said that if they get some times in Q1 & then it rains to a level that qualifying cannot restart then the Q1 times will determine the grid. If no times are set & qualifying is cancelled then qualifying will take place between 9 & 10am tomorrow morning.

I hope quali is rained out, so that Australian TV will show quali live tomorrow morning. It's on a 4 hour delay tonight due to AFL football that's already broadcast on another channel :<>:
