What alonso said was that the clutch broke on the formation lap. He also told that in each corner when he downshifted, he had to kick the accelerator for the gear to come in. The engine broke down to this and not because of reliability problems.phil1993 wrote:I think Ferrari have engine issues - Alonso used one before Bahrain and changed it, now he blew one today

true when they showed onboard camera u could hear it in slow corners... its like the engine stops running... but he manages to shift down by stepping on throttleiceman1 wrote:What alonso said was that the clutch broke on the formation lap. Kimi insists he is not missing F1, and revealed that he was not even aware that Sepang is hosting this weekend’s third round of the championship.
“Somebody actually pointed out to me earlier that it was the Malaysian grand prix this weekend; I hadn’t even realised until it was mentioned"

"Having received a report from the Race Director that Car 5 Sebastian Vettel overtook Car 18 Jarno Trulli whilst yellow flags were displayed at the approach to Turn 4, the Stewards, having viewed video and telemetry evidence and heard evidence from the Driver and Team Representative, find that the Driver did breach Article 2.4.5.1 b) of Appendix H of the International Sporting Code.
However, the Stewards, having noted that the Driver made a very large reduction in speed through the yellow flag area and that he understood that Car 18 was slowing with an obvious problem, DECIDE in accordance with Article 16.2 a) of the Formula One Sporting Regulations to impose no penalty."

The stewarts' decisions this season so far have been surprisingly sensible. Maybe up to the racing drivers that joins them every weekend?

Yeah, when they switched to Vettel's Onboard, I thought he was slowing with a problem so no penalty is completely fine
Re: 2010 Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix
Have they looked into Hamilton's weaving??? He was probably trying to break the tow but it was still dangerous what he did and shouldn't become a regular occurence.

Hamilton's weaving could not have been done at a better time. Malaysia is probably the widest track on the calendar, he was on one of the widest parts of the track, and nobody was around him except Petrov who was trying to overtake him. I call it defense of position, not dangerous. If we keep legislating to these drivers whilst they're in the cockpit, we'll see a procession because they'll be afraid the almighty Bernie will be displeased. Let these men race!

Fernando won't need a gearbox change for China will he?
Re: 2010 Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix
I thought that it was in the rules that you can only have one change of line on a straight defending your position?Ferrariman60 wrote:Hamilton's weaving could not have been done at a better time. Gearbox change will result in a 5 place grid penalty
