Boo, that means the race in Australia will probably have lighting issues, especially with shadows over the track. And I don't mind waking up in the night, makes the race more interesting for me.

agree fully with swca92.
I don't mind waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning. I wouldn't fall asleep anyway.

And the drivers complained about shadows in the latter part of the race last year, but Ecclestone ignored them again just to have more people watching the race.. *sigh*

I enjoyed the first race of 2010, didn't expect the podium for Lewis, but it was a gift obviously. Hopefully the street circuit Melbourne will suit the car/Lewis better, I think overall Lewis maximised.

Alonso was great today, as was Vettel, they didn't put a foot wrong today. I expected more today from Sutil and Kubica, but were unlucky in the first corner, due to Webber's smoke. Webber disappointed me, as did Button for not getting passed Schumi. Who told Dutch journalist that he had troubles with the heat, because he tested in a lot colder curcumstances, so Button/Webber, should have been able to get passed

In 2000, Ferrari started with a 1-2 and won both championships.
In 1998, McLaren started with a 1-2 in the first race, and won both championships.
In 1996, Williams started with a 1-2, and won both championships.
In 1992, Williams started with a 1-2, and won both championships.
so as this year's result, ferrari 1-2 - then they'll win both titles...... i'd say, nah....it ain't going to happen this year, mark down my words.

just a gut feeling :) :n

it is quite interesting stats. i believe that Ferrari might win the title but the driver's championship could pan out differently

If Vettel hadn't have had his problem I believe people wouldn't be shouting down the new rules. Alonso was closing him down and in his words "preparing to attack" I think we'd have had a great battle between those two in the closing laps. I say give it time and the last thing we need is a snap reactionary decision to make two mandatory pitstops. The media are over-reacting wildly and some of the drivers just need to STFU and get on with it for a few races.

No, honestly think about it. Even if Alonso had 0.6ms( :p ) in his pocket it is still not enough to overtake Vettel easily. So all in all you got to accept the show was not that great or boring for few :p . Even compulsory 2 pitstops would hardly help. I think solution to the problem is Disallowing current double/triple/quadruple diffuser. Only way around this would be FIA to provide standard diffuser design IMO.

Also, it's Bahrain. Anyone expecting a good race from there is wildly optomistic.
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

plus one more thing......kimi won his first race @ ferrari last 2007 and went on to win the wdc that year. let's see if nando can emulate that as well.... :)

2 mandatory stops? No thanks.

For Bahrain with a pointless twisty bit, the race was good. Expect drama and chaos in Melbourne, especially if they get storms like they did the other week. :n

I never said Alonso would overtake Vettel, but I'm sure he'd have given it a go and we could have seen a good battle with Alonso attacking and Vettel defending.
