Ferrari's sponsors?
Ferrari's sponsors?
Just a little question that i have wanted to find out,
I have noticed that ferrari seem to alternate between 2 main sponsors on their cars. (Marlboro + Alice)
At the start of the 2007 season, ferrari had marlboro sponsors and during the end they switched. Why is that?
I know it is a little question (and im sorry for that)

Re: Ferrari's sponsors?
It's because cigarette sponsorship on cars and uniforms has been banned but Marlboro is still Ferrari's main sponsor. The "bar-code" was used by Marlboro sponsored teams (in place of the word "Marlboro") from when all tobacco advertising was banned in Germany and England in the 1980s
although the tobacco advertising is not leagal anymore in Europe , USA and Canada

Re: Ferrari's sponsors?
There's only 3 races on the calendar now that can have tobacco advertising: Bahrain, Monaco and China. The tobacco advertising is now indirect, which is the barcode you see at other GPs. I'm quite surprised though that Marlboro stayed with Ferrari once the tobacco ban happened...
Re: Ferrari's sponsors?
...also they are title sponsor... "SCUDERIA FERRARI MARLBORO".

Re: Ferrari's sponsors?
They had another solution which they did not use. Their plan was to do reverse advertising, that is not putting Marlboro ads on Ferrari, but Ferrari ads on MarlboroSilver Shadow wrote:There's only 3 races on the calendar now that can have tobacco advertising: Bahrain, Monaco and China. Ferrari announce Etihad Airways deal
By Jonathan Noble Thursday, March 13th 2008, 03:51 GMT
Ferrari have snapped up a three-year sponsorship deal with Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates.
Etihad Airways signed a three-year title sponsorship deal with Spyker at the beginning of last season but, in the wake of the team's takeover by Kingfisher Airlines boss Vijay Mallya, it was always likely that contract would be terminated.
Ferrari have now taken onboard Etihad, with the airline's logos appearing on the back of their car's rear wing, on the turning vanes and on the drivers' helmets.
Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo said: "We are pleased to enter into this new partnership, that reinforces our links with the United Arab Emirates.
"The collaboration with Etihad Airways is in addition to that with the Mubadala Development Company, who are already a sponsor and shareholder of the company."
