McLaren only tested the new front wing in the morning. PDR was running the classic front wing all the afternoon. The car seemed strong

eughhhh, that's horrible.

I hope that it leaves the desired result, though.

i really dont see anything special in the new wing, nothing radical about it, i think it wont even show on tv.

that strange looking Williams.BMW nose cone, now that was a radical idea. and a bad 1 too

U're speaking about the walrus Williams, the FW26.

That car was great in testing but horrible on the road.

And regarding the wing, the sides are very similar to the Williams, only that the Williams one still goes down at the centre and ends with the nose.

Very interesting images and comments gentlemen.
We are actually ready for some controversy about this new wing, however the wing wont flex, not at least as much as it could result in an ilegal aerodynamic element.

By the way, Mr. Syckns. Would you so kind to let us know some information about the protagonist of your avatar? Who is he? Which GP was the picture taken?
I don't think I have seen that picture before.

Regards.

well ron has been one of the main people to speak out against 'unfair' advantages that other teams were getting because of loopholes or breaking aero rules so it would be stupid for mclaren to put anything that would be illegal so i am 100% confident that this wing is legal because it would be hypocritical of ron to cheat himself when he is one of the people who has brought issues to the attention t the fiav(if you understand hehe )

EDIT:

Image

quite difficult to see but just behind engine cover and below rear wing, a new curvy wing...

anyway neither ferrari or mclaren have retired in 3 races  maybe something will happen

The wing seemed to flex during qualy (moves up at higher speeds, lowers down at slower speeds). Will the FIA team inspect the wing before the race? Will other team file a report with the FIA?

It would be interesting to see what happens in the wind tunnel with and without that piece. It would appear to most likely direct the air down more for a longer period of time as the car displaces air. It may also direct for clear/clean air to the back wing as well.
