High revs and I guess they don't have mufflers.

You're getting F1 engine noise confused with the sound of people moaning. One you need ear plugs for because of the constant high pitched battering your ears get, the other is an F1 engine.

This is so stupid... just a continuation of the wrong way F1 has started going. Now, among all duties and responsibilities, ingeneers are going to waste their time on trying to find a solution for the tailpipe whose sole purpose is to "increase the noise of the engine so F1 would be more attractive to audience"....

This is just so wrong, in many ways... makes me sad really

Mercedes to test F1 exhaust set-up aimed at making cars louder

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/113829

I read this solution will interrupt the thermal and aerodynamic integration between the power unit and the current exhaust layout.

And the sound hasn't changed much. Maybe Phillip can give his opinion as he's there.

Their advantage is so big that they're willing to change an exhaust layout for the sake of sound. This is so sad for F1...

I would accept this trumpet stuck to the exhaust as a solution, but only if it plays Miles Davis' smooth tunes. Otherwise, it's completely pointless and useless
