3 corner tickets
3 corner tickets
Hi everyone. I was looking for some advice. i have never been to a f1 race before and was looking at these 3 corner tickets. has anyone done this and is it a good idea? I am planing to go to the barcelona 2014 race.
Re: 3 corner tickets
First of all you need to check if Barcelona has this ticket option because not all the tracks has it. It is definitely better to watch the event from three different corners than one but you can also do this with a simple general admission ticket. The advantage is that a general admission ticket is way cheaper and you even get the chance to see the action from more than three spots. You can walk all over the track and find the best option.

Re: 3 corner tickets
Barcelona does do this ticket option. I was just wondering if it was worth doing this way as this will be a gift for my husbands 30th birthday and he has been a life long fan of formula 1. I was thinking seating would be better as it is a long time to stand out in the heat. would you advise against seated tickets?
Re: 3 corner tickets
I had seated tickets for Valencia in 2008 - with up to 40 degrees outside - and I can tell you it wasn't that nice to stay hours on the same place, with no options of moving somewhere else. You feel like decomponsing because of the heat In contrast, a general admission ticket gives you the freedom to move, to find a bit of shadow.
The only thing is that the 2014 Spanish GP will be held at the beggining of May, when it's not that hot outside.
Both options are ok for this race and as a fan he will enjoy any of them. But if this will be his first F1 race than I would go for the 3 corner tickets.

Re: 3 corner tickets
Just to chip in, bear in mind that for a Brit, Spain in early May will feel hot
I definitely think general admission is a good idea, I mean I haven't done that for ages but it's always good as you can walk around in many places. Bear in mind that there will be thousands of Alonso fans packing the place out, but Friday [or perhaps Thursday if they open the track up] is a good time to see where is best to be.
I don't think Barcelona has covered grandstands anyway, except for the one on the pits straight.

According to their website, only the Main Grandstand is covered.phil1993 wrote: I don't think Barcelona has covered grandstands anyway, except for the one on the pits straight.
So, if you think about buying a grandstand ticket only because it will protect your husband from sun/rain, than you should reconsider.
What are the three corners he will have access to?

Re: 3 corner tickets
Thank you all so much, you have all given me a lot to think about. Not the marriage proposal though sorry iceman1. I just want my husband to have the best experience possible as he is a big fan he is watching f1 as I am typing. thanks again to you all. any other advice is much appreciated.
Re: 3 corner tickets
I went to the Canadian GP this year and got a 'trio' ticket which sounds like the same thing - three different grandstands for the different days. The obvious advantage as discussed is that viewing from three different corners makes it more interesting. When I went to Valencia in 2012 I was in the same seat for 3 days which was fine, but it would have been more interesting to have some variety.
Also, there were many other fans who had the trio ticket. We always seemed to be sitting close to each other each day which was pleasant for chatting purposes. It's likely that there will be many English speakers going to the race.
