Is Bernie's gesture of paying $100M a sign of guilt on his bribery case?

I find it rather ironic that Bernie has effectively paid a bribe to the German authorities to avoid prosecution on the charges of bribery levelled against him.

Its a sure fire way to avoid conviction. And ofcourse all the hassles of litigation. I know he's got the best lawyers but he doesn't want any complication. Paying straight up ends it all. That's what money brings for Bernie. :)

Grosjean getting antsy now with Lotus despite his long-standing relationship with the team. Rumor has it that he wants to jump ship with another team next year that can give him a competitive car. Can't blame the guy as he's been trying to get wins for several years now.

German bank rejected the settlement offer made by Bernie. I don't know what's gonna happen next, if another case will be filed or not. Or another settlement but for a higher price..

Mercedes technical chief Paddy Lowe has denies that the engine is the sole factor for their team's success. I think it's not the sole factor but it is one of the major factor. There's no denying that majority of the current top 5 teams in the constructors championship is a Mercedes engine supplied car.

They'd still be winning races with a Renault engine in the car I reckon. Having the Mercedes unit just makes them win by that much of a margin...

There's no denying that, as the recent winner has a Renault engine. Its interesting to note though that 11/11 a Mercedes engine car has qualified for pole, and 9/11 emerged as the race winner. Needless to say its very clear that the 2014 season belongs to Mercedes powered teams.

Mercedes has the most complete package as a whole, they made the most of being able to design the engine and the car, even in the circuits where the engine power is not crucial as Monaco they were the benchmark .

Really? Mercedes powered teams? I think it's only a Mercedes team.
If we exclude Mercedes team from the results:
In qualifying that will be 9 PP for Renault(Red Bull) and only 2 PP for Mercedes(Williams).
In races: 5 for Renault(Red Bull), 5 for Mercedes(Williams 3, McLaren 1, Force India 1) and 1 win for Ferrari.

So clearly that engine is not winning alone, the car must be also brilliant. With Renault engine they would still leading the championship :O

Sainz Jr, Lynn, da Costa (who absurdly is old news now)... Look at that Red Bull log jam. There's no guarantee of a RBR seat opening up any time soon, so what will happen to Kvyat and Verstappen come 2016? Really hope this doesn't mess up his career. Hope Vergne gets a seat somewhere as well, although I feel it's unlikely.

Some great stats on how young he is. Was not alive for any of Jacques Villeneuve's wins, was 2 when Button made his debut, will be driving for the same team his Dad did only 12 years ago...

Still, done of this is as crazy as Andre Lotterer's rumoured debut with Caterham this weekend. :p
