Sauber to leave F1?

Post by mikhailv » 02 Jul 2013, 19:41

Apparently Sauber could bein major trouble. hulkenberg has cancelled his contract with Sauber for 2014, he has told his sponsors not to pay anymore. C32 development has been stopped.

So Sauber is on the breadline with marussia, Lotus are seriously struggling and so it Force India.

Not looking good at all. Especially as marussia are 11th correct? They get zero money at the end of the year. Lotus will fail if they lose Kimi if they can afford him.

Awful.

Hopefully it's just rumours... but it sounds serious.

Hopefully, this won't happen.
But I feel really bad for Hulk. He left FI, because the rumors said it has serious financial problems and the car was meh. Everything he left FI for happened at Sauber...

Agreed about Hulk, he deserves better but F1 is a cruel mistress

Some rumours are saying Massa or Bianchi could have the second seat.

I hope Massa leaves F1 instead of stepping backwards. He deserves dignity in leaving. Not going backwards.

What kind of driver willingly passes up an F1 drive?

One that knows he's lost a big part of his talent, knows that fighting in a non-race winning car will demotivate him, and has a fortune to last him the rest of his life.

Exactly. You can damage your career more by staying on and fighting former glories, he can just join Fisichella in sports cars.

I'm not quite sure what happened to Sauber. Is it the fact that the team decided to get Hulkenberg who has a limited sponsorship?

Its more to do with losing BMW IMO. Since then they have struggled. Couple of iffy sponsorships, Claro/telmex was perez's. They never seem to get a sponsor. Even BMW didnt have much sponsorship.
