Monaco grand prix

Hi can anybody help me, I am trying to find out if i need to buy tickets for the monaco grand prix, as I am hoping to take my hubby for a Christmas prezzy, I need to know where the best places to stay are, also im told you can watch it from the roads if so where is the best place to view? any ifo would be greatly appreciated as I know nothing of these things!

Well, the Monaco Grand Prix doesn't take place on Christmas for one thing.
