@PeterDWindsor: Not sure that the ALO-Montezemolo relationship improved during August. Kimi now lined up as a swap, with VET going red in 2015

WTF is going on?

Now that would be interesting if true. But if that happens, then what next for Alonso? Is this the end of his career? He has managed to all but alienate himself from all the top teams bar Red Bull. And considering his track record (which isn't great even with Enstone) would any of the big teams want to hire him again?

Kimi's manager, Steve Robertson, says "negotiations with Red Bull were unsuccessful and ended a while ago"

Ricciardo it is then.

Equally, why would you rule your driver out of a seat that is still - officially - vacant...

The main reason I'd want Kimi at Ferrari is so he has Smedley as his engineer. Imagine them together. :p

"We are pretty confident that Kimi will be in F1 next year. There are options - and that is plural - out there and I will continue to talk to teams. I am hopeful we will sort something out in the not too distant future" - Steve Robertson.

Maybe Red Bull want him to prove himself with a year at Toro Rosso first. :p

RS; 'Kimi sweetie stay cool stay cool'
KR; 'JUST LEAVE ME ALONE I KNOW WHAT TO DO'
RS; 'Ok but remember to ease up abit on turn 4 and use KERS coming out of turn 5, repeat turn 5'
KR; 'YES YES YES IM DOING IT YOU DONT HAVE TO REMIND ME EVERY SECOND'

On another note. We knew Kimi wouldn't go there. Vettel would veto any of the top 3 drivers against him. All of them would whether they admit it or not. Kimi wont go to Ferrari neither. I think he will stay at Lotus and all this would be brilliant to laugh at. Its the super-kimster fans I cant wait to see the reaction of; 'oh theyre best mates, its guaranteed' 'oh look Pay driver alonso bought the seat out now theyre running to the best ferrari driver since schumacher'. Ahhhh bless them. gotta have things to smile at!

@f1talks: According to @CarloVanzini Ferrari deal with Raikkonen is done.
