Im in two minds. On the one hand, it looks awsome. On the other, it looks so..... false.

I'm with you on this. I'm excited about the movie, but also cautious considering it has been given the Hollywood makeover.

I don't think it will. This will be a 100 or so minutes long movie tightly packed with action and emotion. I think someone who hasn't cared about F1 before would be greatly disappointed by the races. It is just not as intense as it is portrayed in the movie... I might be wrong though.

Early reviews are positive:

http://www.totalfilm.com/reviews/cinema/rush-1 5 stars out of possible 5

Total Film's Verdict:

Utterly gripping. Aided by two punchy lead turns, an Oscar-worthy script and stunning in-car footage, Howard’s race film delivers top-gear drama. A piston- and heart-pumping triumph.

Well, that's good feedback. Only one more week. :D
I've just read an article where Ecclestone and Howard say that they are not impressed by Hemsworth, Hunt's role should have been played by Heath Ledger (R.I.P.).

The problem with Hemsworth is, he didnt nail James' english accent. Bruhl is a dream cast. Ledge wouldnt have been a good James Hunt. Problem is, who would? If Hemsworth nailed the accent I think it would be perfect.

Why weren't they impressed with Hemsworth?

Sorry, I mixed up; it was Hunt's son, Tom and Bernie who didn't like Chris. According to the article it's nothing specific. Ecclestone said "The guy who played Niki was really good. But no one can play James. He was just special."
Tom Hunt agreed with him, while added "When I watched the movie I definitely didn't see my dad. I think what i missed was my father's charismatics and effrontery. Heath Ledger would have been the best choice."
