They still have the step, they've just covered it up with a modesty panel.

McLaren are probably making aero benefits, but even so, they'd have to change more of the car to accommodate the step, something Lotus have 12 months head start on.

However, given the nose without a modesty cover is lying around, it wouldn't entirely surprise me if they did go for uncovered nose once on track. It'd be very Ron-like to just have a nice nose for the launch photos.

This is quite off topic, but I just saw the video about the parade of former cars they had before the launch and I must say one thing: They had the M23, the Mp4/4, the MP4-13 and the MP4-23,
But why the hell don't they drive the MP4-20 in the parade!?!? Thats the most beautiful F1 car of all time IMO!!!!

They probably tried, but it probably drove 5 feet before a driveshaft broke or something. :p

Don't get me wrong, I love the MP4/20, but it was a tad unreliable!

Anyone know what time the 2 launches are today?

EDIT: Ah Ferrari is in about 45 minutes.

Force India's is at 10.15. It's wet here, but not raining.

That looks beautiul does it not? REAL high nose too. Love the colours over the past few years livery, more red on the front wing does a world of difference, same with more red on the rear wing endplates, and abit more black.

The Ferrari car looks ok, much better than last year's, but the livery is horrible. Too much white. Reminds me a bit of the 1993 livery.

Force India looks nice, as it did last year.

So far all the new cars (Macca, Ferrari, FI) launched with stepped noses except Lotus.
Hmm..is Lotus going backwards??
