Would you move the Spain GP to Valencia permanently?
Would you move the Spain GP to Valencia permanently?
Sorry if creating a thread just for this is too much, please, feel free to merge it with other thread if needed or hit me with the whip. :P
There is this user named Snic from the Autosport forum that has gethered some information about the whole season, and well, as many knew already, people seem to have found exciting the Valencia GP, and much more than the Spanish GP in Montmeló. And ranks second in term of overtakes!
My point with this thread is to show once again that the Valencia track isn't bad at all and that perhaps it'd be a nice idea to move there forever the Spanish GP.
Would you guys move the Spain GP there? I would definitely.

2012 was the only good year for that track though. I think it had only had something silly like 4 passes in the previous 2 years.
You'd have to take a better average over a longer period. I'd drop them both and have Turkey back.

I think last year there was a lot of passing and excitement too.Kevin Clark wrote:2012 was the only good year for that track though. I think it had only had something silly like 4 passes in the previous 2 years.

And I don't think leaving Spain without a GP is an option. :P

Re: Would you move the Spain GP to Valencia permanently?
actually i don't like the barcelona circuit (it's layout is not intresting to me,something like korea) and valencia was my least favorite track until this season (and i think 2012 valencia race was something that won't happen again),i drop them both,i think Jerez or even Aragon (is it possible for f1 cars to race there?) are better SPANISH tracks.
A craven can be as brave as any man, when there is nothing to fear. And we all do our duty, when there is no cost to it. How easy it seems then, to walk the path of honor.

agree with Kevin Clark
- bring back Turkey
- bring back Turkey
Re: Would you move the Spain GP to Valencia permanently?
Drop them both and bring the A1 Ring and Magny Cours back

Barcelona is terrible.
Valencia is terrible but somehow put on a cracking 2012 races, after four dire events.
Move it to Aragon, it rocks!

Barcelona is terrible, but it's been around so long (all the time I've watched F1) I'd be sad to see it go.
It wouldn't feel right the first European race of the season not being Barcelona!

Re: Would you move the Spain GP to Valencia permanently?
To be honest, it felt wrong when the first European race wasn't Imola...
Re: Would you move the Spain GP to Valencia permanently?
Imola is no where near as good as it used to be though. Since 1994 they put a chicane in every 300 yards. They would need to put some of the old corners back with suitable safety measures.
Re: Would you move the Spain GP to Valencia permanently?
Variante Bassa is gone since a few years, therefore overtaking into the first chicane should be possible.
Re: Would you move the Spain GP to Valencia permanently?
Maybe Aragon could be modified for F1 cars (I think it's not wide enough despite that I think trucks race there, but you know, trucks go slower...).
Madrid was going to build one in a southern city named "Pinto", with shames similar to Malaysia, but the crisis buried the project.

Re: Would you move the Spain GP to Valencia permanently?
I would- Barcelona is dull partly because the teams know it inside-out from winter testing, whereas with Valencia they don't know the track any more than they would any other Tilkedrom.
