2013 Formula One Discussion
Re: 2013 Formula One Discussion
Thanks, I never knew about that.
Re: 2013 Formula One Discussion
It is a rather sad thing that Fernando Alonso hasn't had the ideal car since the 2006-2007 seasons of Formula 1.
I always wonder if what he could do in a true beast of a car...

Re: 2013 Formula One Discussion
Oana was lucky enough to have a sit down and a chat with safety car driver Bernd Maylander at Spa

Good to see the iPhone 5 is still the device of choice in 2038.

It really is scandalous. The net effect is that highly qualified engineers are now expected to fly the world in cattle class and eat off plastic plates as their teams fight to stay afloat while CVC's head honchos go about their business first class
Re: 2013 Formula One Discussion
Its quite true. F1 needs a reality check that will never, ever come.
Re: 2013 Formula One Discussion
It will when Red Bull pulls the plug on their two teams, Mercedes gets bored with not winning titles and any of Lotus, Caterham, Marussia, Force India run out of money.
Re: 2013 Formula One Discussion
And the net effect will be the capital investment fund wanting to offload F1 asap as they won't be able to make money of it any more.
Re: 2013 Formula One Discussion
Bernies not stupid. 10 years from now, Ill wager that we have customer cars.
Re: 2013 Formula One Discussion
Very true. And what I expect is the "customer" cars will come from Ferrari, McLaren and maybe one other team. Thus creating what Bernie wants, which is few teams / manufacturers running the sport with him.mikhailv wrote:Bernies not stupid. 10 years from now, Ill wager that we have customer cars.
Re: 2013 Formula One Discussion
In one sense, it would be a fantastic thing; imagine how many competative cars there would be on the grid? I mean lets be honest, theres not much innovation or relevance anymore in Formula 1 so in my opinion we may aswell just head towards a spec series with 3 customer options.
Re: 2013 Formula One Discussion
It would be interesting, but in reality it would be little different to a glorifid version of the 1980's or 1990's F3000. Only a few chassis and engine packages, the best would still be the best and the rest would be some way behind.
