It seems Korea won't be in 2014 so we'll have 21 races next year. It'll be a very long season :)

Might not have New Jersey either... Suzuka currently doesn't have a contract either!

I'm not really sure what to think of that. It's one of the best tracks on the calendar, but it wouldn't hurt to replace it with a race in country where people actually... care.

They gave a date of July 6, 2014 occupying the spot formerly taken by Valencia, as well as the spot they occupied as the A1-Ring from 1998-2000.
You mean Valencia's not going to be on the calendar next year? Oh, dear. :<>:

Of course not, Spain's economy is dreadful and the circuit is already in disrepair.

Meanwhile, the Independent is reporting that F1 paid less than £1m on £300m profits
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/po ... 28928.html

Then again, that journalist Sylt is close to Bernie. It's avoidance, not evasion, ergo not illegal. Meanwhile Bernie has more pressing matters to deal with... :O

20 races in 2014, according to Bernie. Russian GP given Korea's date. No NJ...

new jersy probably wont be ready tbh which sucks. Ideally, get rid of abu dhabi and get new jersey on, but money talks.

I don't think NJ will ever happen. I'm willing to be proved wrong but the entire area looks sub-standard for the sport.

I'd love it to happen, but agree it won't.

In other news, Lewis refers to Susie Wolff as 'one of his boss' wife' :zz:

lewis looks white in that picture. And on New Jersey; it be good, but will it just be yet another monaco? Street races bore me. Theres only Singapore that is brilliant, the rest should disappear off the calendar and make room for better, racing tracks.

I'd be happy for NJ not to happen.

American street circuits are rarely interesting (just look at the dull indycar races they have), and the proposed circuit itself didn't look to really have much in the way of passing places. I don't really get the excitement about it.

As I said in the other thread, this doesn't make any sense to me. Lotus have been developping Grosjean for a while and he's starting to deliver. Draft in Hülk and he'll take half a season to settle down with a car he has never tested. Would Lotus want him for the future so badly that they'd sacrifice a home product + half a season's worth of decent results ? Why not hire him for 2014 when they lose Kimi.

I'd love NJ to be on the calendar. It would be a welcome change from all the huge, empty tilkedromes like India and Korea.

Tilke designed the New Jersey circuit if I'm not mistaken.
