It may just be me thinking this, but I don't like the way the 2013 calendar is spread out. It feels disjointed. You have 2 back to back races, a 3 week gap, 2 back to back races and then another 3 week gap. 3 weeks between Canada and GB, then back to back with Germany, then a 3 week gap to Hungary. After the summer break it's 2 week, back to back, 2 week and so on. That's not so bad. It just feels like you can't get a flow on early on in the season and then a load of races are crammed in later on in the year.
Its VERY annoying. They should've done it;

Australia-two week gap- Malaysia then china B2B- week gap- Bahrain- two week gap- spain then Monaco B2B- week gap - Canada - week gap - Silverstone - two week gap - Germany then hungary B2B- month gap- Spa- week - Italy and Singapore B2B and then the original end of the season.

It's messed up, but wasn't helped by New Jersey being cancelled.

I'd rather have it a two week constant gap all season long. That way we have enough time to discuss races and we also avoid the long stale breaks.

They need holidays.. give them some break... 3 weeks gap usually used as important massive update package sequence.

3 weeks gap is annoying anyway, I like back to back races :-D no need for holidays!!!

They should have 6 weeks a year off, two a christmas, two in the summer and two other weeks off. Thats what the standard is over here, either 6 weeks/28 working days!

Yes but there's a pretty fundamental flaw in your argument there.

But weekends aren't considered working days Phil (in the standard business working day sense) and therefore 6 weeks holiday is akin to 28 days!

F1 teams work weekends. For back to back races, a lot of them will be working from today, most of them from Wednesday.

In the summer, they get 2 weeks - that's the shutdown length, despite the 4 week gap between races.

It's not the conventional Mon > Fri 9am to 5pm. I don't know how many days they work, but I'd hazard an educated guess that it's more than many think.

Yeah they can choose any two weeks of the four cant they? So say after Hungary, they can shut down for two weeks instantly, and work the two week before spa or vice versa?

If it was upto me, Id actually give them 3 weeks of at christmas so week before christmas, christmas week and the week with new years eve, two weeks in the summer then a week or two in january/february.

Correct. Most choose either the first two weeks, some weeks 2 and 3.

Christmas - particularly 2013>4 - will be incredibly busy. Taking 3 weeks off would be a no-no, particularly now that the season doesn't end until the end of November. There's only really a 60 day turnaround between seasons.
