I feel very sorry for Lewis. Sure, he doesn't help himself sometimes, but nor do McLaren seem to be trying to help him.

McLaren are a bunch of d**ks to be honest. They will regret treating Lewis the way they do, and I'm so looking forward to the next couple of seasons when he trounces the average-at-best Jenson and his over-hyped teammate in his below par Merc. Let's see how Martin S**tmarsh will feel about that.

Alonso wasn't wrong when he spoke about several drivers leaving McLaren 'for a better life'.

The more I look and think about it the more I think that whilst he'll have a less competitive car, in terms of his off-track happiness and relationship with the team this move is a good thing.

Kravitz said yesterday on the F1 show that he made a mistake and Button didn't say that.

Rachel Brookes ‏@RachelBrookesTV
Martin Whitmarsh tells sky sports news Mclaren would have Lewis back and he hopes Lewis "is just on a gap year"

Way to go to endorse your 2013 line up Martin.

When his Merc contract is up, Button will probably be looking at retirement so maybe the plan is to have him back then.

Is it just me who looks at this feeling that Lewis will be back in 2014/2015? I just keep thinking that he's so close to the team that it's a case of 'you don't know what you've got until it's gone' sort of mentality.

I've thought similar Phil, but to be honest I've been taken aback by just how much talk of a return there has been from both Hamilton and Whitmarsh already. He's not even started work for Mercedes yet and is already talking about if / when he might return!

Me thinks, if Merc can't give him a competitive car, he has an option in his contract to leave and then he goes to RBR. Webber is already 36 and I don't think he'll be continuing in Red Bull after 2013. Specially if Horner can get Lewis. If not RBR then he goes back to McLaren.

Red Bull are now looking at Hulkenberg if the rumours are to be believed. I realise that it new news and I think Lewis will be tied to his current contract for two years with an option for the third. If its looking bad in his second year I think he'll jump ship possibly back to McLaren. That is if the relationship isn't soured with help from the lovely British tabloid press.
