I'd be quite something if Kimi could win the title without winning a race...

That thought had crossed my mind. :p If he finishes every race on the podium just not the top step it might happen. :p

That would be a great story for F1. Would be the first guy to do so though?

I just checked statistics and found no world champions who had won the title without winning during that season. Ecclestone has pointed (at least for several years) that the driver with most wins deserves the title. New system for calculating the points has made this task even easier... so if Kimi would do that, he'd really make history.

Only keke Rosberg who took one win in 82 and that was switzerland wasnt it? He only won because Pironi died ¬_¬

But I dont think kimi will win the WDC. Only reason I say that, is theres quite a few colder races; Spa is often cool and wet, Monza is usually hot, Singapore isnt usually that hot at night is it? Not lotus operating hot? Korea is often cool, but india is scorching same as abu dhabi. Brazil is either hot or wet.

So really, depending on the temperature I would say Lotus' chances hinge on that really. They were terrible in Monaco along with bad strategy. Kimi is always epic at Spa, DDRS would help, but cool temperatures will just do nothing for the car.

I dont believe in Lotus as a team or the car. But i want Kimi to get the top step this season.

I think the temperature issue is overhyped in all honesty. Teams know the tyres now, the races will be more stable.

Singapore is usually very hot.

Yeah, he was seriously injured in 82 though. Ended his F1 career. Think that's what mikhailv meant.

Super DRS will be ready in SPA

http://www.f1zone.net/news/lotus-pushin ... spa/15244/

It'll give the car an extra speed of 5-6 km/h on long straights. It's the same speed generated by the F-Duct in 2010 which was 5 Km/h.

Nah i got mistaken and thought he died in 82, when it was Gille. Didier did hi legs in 82 and then died in the powerboating in 87 was it?

Precisely. What a nightmare year that must have been, with Paletti's fatal crash also. I wonder how the other drivers coped with that back then.

Saddest thing to me is, well not sad, but it just shows the brotherhood in rivalry and F1; Pironi's girlfriend named the children Didier and Gilles. You wouldnt get that in F1 anymore.
