The throttle pedal works both ways, and this was a particularly stupid accident anyway because he was guaranteed to pass the McLaren any time soon. Apparently Williams had implored him on the radio not to take risks, and he is very lucky not to be carrying a heavy grid penalty to Silverstone.

He's actually admitted to some mistakes. Maybe now he'll make some progress and iron them out!

I think he's hugely talented, but needs to show much more consistency and really treat this season as a "learning" season to enable him to really fire into 2013 firing on all pistons. He's driving like he had something to prove at the moment, and largely, he doesn't!

He answered: "Aggressive and intelligent"
