Nice one Kals
I feel sorry for Luiz. He was twice willing to give his time to us.

Re: 2012-13 Silly Season
Still young. There'll be plenty of opportunities for him if he can get back to GP2 and keep impressing. Those backers that didn't pay up are going to dent his credibility, though.
Re: 2012-13 Silly Season
I did have my doubts when I saw the lack of sponsor names on the MR-02. Obviously waiting to work out placements but that never happened. Expect to see lots of Aon logos now!
He is still young, but to have your dream taken away so close to achieving it...

Re: 2012-13 Silly Season
What is the price tag that Chilton (sr) paid to Marussia for 2013? I mean that must have some sway with having the AON branding in prominant places on the car.
Re: 2012-13 Silly Season
True, but I guess it's only relative. Razia might have been paying double, who knows.
Re: 2012-13 Silly Season
Somewhere today I read the Marussia asking price for Razia's seat was $5m. Now I don't know if that is what Razia was actually paying, or that is the subsidized price for the replacement driver after Razia's departure (his sponsors made the first payment).
Re: 2012-13 Silly Season
I think we may find Bianchi comes with some nice fresh Ferrari Turbo's.
Re: 2012-13 Silly Season
It must be gutting for him to be so close and losing it, but money was what got him that seat and it didn't materialise... Live by the sword, die by the sword.
Re: 2012-13 Silly Season
I'd like to think so too but that would mean Marussia ending the technical partnership with McLaren.mikhailv wrote:I think we may find Bianchi comes with some nice fresh Ferrari Turbo's.
Re: 2012-13 Silly Season
That wouldnt be a bad thing. I mean, im sure the Ferrari deal would see them replace the components IE gearboxes and/or KERS.kals wrote:I'd like to think so too but that would mean Marussia ending the technical partnership with McLaren.mikhailv wrote:I think we may find Bianchi comes with some nice fresh Ferrari Turbo's.
That way it would be Ferrari, Sauber, Force India and Marussia with Ferrari engines next year, should the Bianchi/Ferrari deal be correct for 2014. 4 teams for ferrari, 4 for Renault and 3 for Mercedes/Mclaren
Re: 2012-13 Silly Season
Sauber will be with Mercedes in 2014.
Re: 2012-13 Silly Season
Thats good news. He's been around for a while now and I'm glad he gets his shot. Let's see what he's really made of...

Re: 2012-13 Silly Season
So the McLaren-Honda rumours are picking up again. I wonder how much or if there is any truth to this?
Re: 2012-13 Silly Season
I reckon there is a truth to it. There's a lot of outlets reporting it but now there's the reputable ones. I'd love to see it. Forget the sentimental livery changes, I'm glad there could be another engine supplier.
Re: 2012-13 Silly Season
I said it last week that there should be 5 or 6 engine suppliers across the grid. The new engine rules are designed to make it easiler for a manufacturer to enter the sport. It would be great to have Honda back as well, and with McLaren. F1 2014 (or 2015) could have a semi-retro feel with Ferrari, Williams-Renault and McLaren-Honda.
