Ideal Calendar Schedule?
Re: Ideal Calendar Schedule?
Anyone else find that some real life circuits that suck are actually really fun on racing sims and vice versa? Like Valencia & Abu Dhabi are quite fun, yet in reality they suck.

Both would be good but it looks like tracks will be possibly alternated on a bi-annual basis.cformula1 wrote:My ideal schedule:

What is Bernie thinking about.
Re: Ideal Calendar Schedule?
They're not bad IRL. Just bad for overtaking. I think they're fun to drive in games too.phil1993 wrote:Anyone else find that some real life circuits that suck are actually really fun on racing sims and vice versa? Like Valencia & Abu Dhabi are quite fun, yet in reality they suck.
@ reppo: noo they shouldn't do that! Spa should be an annual event forever. Just like monaco and monza.

A craven can be as brave as any man, when there is nothing to fear. And we all do our duty, when there is no cost to it. How easy it seems then, to walk the path of honor.

Re: Ideal Calendar Schedule?
As someone who lives in Australia, we really don't need two GPs... especially Adelaide! And the drivers seem to like Monza so I'd be in favour of bringing that back. I'd drop the Bahrain GP because it's pretty dull and there's a serious political problem there, F1 is above being bought for the highest bidder (or should be!) and Monaco has been outgrown by the cars so that can go too.
I also think some people are swapping around races without other considerations, like you can't race in Melbourne in August unless you want the race to be rained out ;)

Re: Ideal Calendar Schedule?
I was on Twitter this morning discussing this with NBC's producer: the calendar is a bit strange at the moment.
It feels all disjointed. Back-to-back races, then a 3 week gap. Not many races in the Summer but then they get jammed in at the end of the year. It's strange and it'll get worse next year when Sochi joins. Teams are getting pushed to breaking point and they need to hire more people.
By my calculations there will be 95 days between the flag in Brazil and FP1 in Bahrain. That is not a lot of time.
