Lotus is having a competition where fans can win a LF1T's official 2012 CD compilation signed by Kimi and Romain:

Kimi and Romain were signing cars in Lotus Cars Club of Malaysia :D

Kimi promises overtakes

Saturday 24.03.2012 at 13.05

Replaced floor helped Kimi Räikkönen in qualifying.

- The car was working today as it should. We changed the floor in the evening and it was immediately better. I felt it already in the morning practice, Raikkonen thanked team's decision.

At the same time the gearbox was replaced. It drops the Finn to tenth place in the grid. Raikkonen was regretting his own mistakes.

- The pace would have been enough even to the top. A couple of accelerations from curves did not go quite right and a little time was lost. What a pity that I got the penalty.

Raikkonen promises to improve his position in Sunday's race.

- The car has gone pretty well on long stints. Hopefully, this time we cope the first corner without collisions, so that we could see how high the start speed is sufficient.

- Even we are lower at the grig, at least on this track it is easier to pass than in Australia. If the feeling of the car is the same in the race as it was in qualification, we'll try to go as high as possible.

MTV3 interviews Kimi's fitness trainer Mark Arnall. Don't know how to embed the video but it is mostly in English. Just click where it says "KATSO"

Thanks Reppo :)

Unfortunately, those of us out of Finland cannot watch the Katsomo videos (they read the IP address).
About the underpants: one of the Lotus PR guys is Spanish speaking. They interviewed him in Spanish TV before Qualy and he told that some engineers that were still in the circuit when the fire started, when they saw the smoke, they went to the private rooms of both drivers trying to save their equipment. They managed to get some equipment away from the flames so kudos to them, had they not risked themselves, Grosjean and Kimi would not have had material to race this weekend.

Kimi Raikkonen believes Lotus pace was strong enough for Malaysian GP front row
By Jonathan Noble and Simon Strang

Kimi Raikkonen believes his Lotus had the potential to be inside the top two in qualifying for the Malaysian Grand Prix, had not made a mistake on his Q3 flying lap at Sepang.

Raikkonen will start from 10th on the grid in Sunday's race after the team was forced to change his car's gearbox, but Raikkonen believes his pace was good enough to contend for pole; on paper, at least.

Asked by AUTOSPORT if he could have been one of the two fastest drivers in qualifying, the winner of this event in 2003 replied: "Yeah for sure. It's [his time] a tenth away from the top three and for sure we lost that easily.

"I got out of shape in two places and lost maybe a tenth or two, and on a perfect lap for sure it could have been two tenths faster, but it's not often that you get everything right like that so..."

The Finn also revealed that he was happier with his car after overnight changes to the floor and repairs to his KERS, which hadn't functioned properly during Friday's practice.

"It worked today, so I mean it didn't work yesterday, we had some issues with KERS and all sorts of things," he explained. "Now it is normal and it's fine. I don't think in Melbourne... it didn't feel something [right]. We ran the same floor, and then we changed the floor yesterday because we had some issues and suddenly it's like it was in testing."

The 2007 world champion was quick on race pace on his return to F1 at Melbourne last week, where he finished seventh, and though he hopes to be able to achieve a similar speed on Sunday, he was cautious about predicting a podium place.

"I don't know," he said. "I'll tell you tomorrow. I mean the cars in front of us, they are fast, but I think we were pretty good in the race in Melbourne in the long runs. Yesterday I had a good speed in the long runs so we will see.

"It depends, a lot can happen in the first two corners, if you can get through clean and with no problems. That's why it would have been nicer to start closer to the front.

"Yesterday in my long run the car was pretty good, even though we didn't have KERS and the car probably wasn't perfect overall. But then the soft I don't know.

"If it is the same like yesterday I think we have a pretty good car."

Ouch, too bad. MTV3 uses silverlight and doesn't allow downloads - I think ''hmm'' Anyway Arnall says that nothing important was lost and he thinks it was Mercedes and Ferrari guys who rushed in and started throwing things out. They kicked windows out and driver kits followed. Overalls were on the wash and only unimportant things like Kimi's underpants were lost  Then he talks Kimi's training for F1 which they started 4 to 5 months before coming to F1. Also Kimi's neck and overall fitness is very good. He also compares differences of training between in WRC and F1 and says WRC is about 70% of what F1 requires. When comparing to other sports he says it is hard make a direct comparison, but he estimates that the top fitness of F1 drivers are about same level as top NHL players. Then he talks about dehydration in Malaysia and says if a driver loses 5% of liquids he can lose a lot in reaction time and even the whole team must remember to keep their liquid balance okay to be fit during the race.

Now, who has jinxed KIMI? Confess immediately :<>:

- In Australia Slade forgot to update remaining time to Kimi and Kimi slowed down too much to get a clear track ahead to try fast lap. He would easily have done one more laps and get into Q2 if he had known.

- In Australia he got grass into radiator and gearbox overheated. Now how often has it ever happened that grass blocks radiator and breaks gearbox. It has happened that gravel and grass gets into air intakes and teams have clear them during the pit stop. Where the radiator is placed - at the bottom of the car? Can't they see in telemetry that gearbox is too hot?

- The floor of the car had a defect or something and had to be changed. Now what was that? Have they hired Fred Flintstone to assemble parts together?

- Not just gearbox overheating but fridge too and starting a fire.

- Spare helmet burns and underpants too!

- All ice cream melted http://www.lotusf1team.com/We-Didn-t-Start-the-Fire.html "We may also see a few hungry looking Lotus F1 Team members wandering around the paddock, and possibly a certain driver hunting down alternative ice cream resources…" Well, according Adam Cooper Ferrari is feeding Kimi and Romain :E

What's next? Now who is behind all of this ''hmm''
