Using that logic one has to wonder how Alonso and Vettel didn't make it to the podium in Canada :O It is not like their cars were uncompetitive.

I'd say that probably the Lotus drivers could have achieved more considering the machinery they have but there are many competitive cars this season, driven by rather good drivers. So being on the podium all the time is not that easy...

Reppo, thank you very much for the articles. :)

I'm so sad for Kimi: crappy strategics again for him, problems with the car, BUT not Romain! ::oops:; ::oops:; Why is that, maybe because he is Boulliers pet! :<>: When I see them together, they are like fatther and son... No team boss should be the manager for the drivers and Boulllier is the manager for both Romain and Jerome! :<>: :<>:

I think there is an issue between Kimi and Lotus. Kimi is a top driver and demands a top car. Lotus does not seem at present to be able to deliver. The attitude ‘shut up and drive what you have’ is not reflective of a top team. Ferrari did not give up and at great expense gave Alonso a car he can win the championship with. This is the mark of a top team. Lotus seems to have abandoned its target of producing a top car this season and I am not sure of their commitment for next year. So, maybe Kimi will drop the team, not the other way around.

Oh no, JV and the all around famous The Unknown Team Member, who's again spreading stories about steering and bad relationships - now in German media; the most reliable sources of information about Lotus and Kimi

Kimi's deal with Lotus is a la Robertsons, so I think Lotus need a shitload of Zimbabwean dollars to get rid of him, unless of course if he wants to leave. Wouldn't surprise me to see him one day back in McLaren especially now when Ron is no longer rondennising people around in the team and Lewis might be going elsewhere.

Anyway those rumors about Lotus and Kimi are just rumors and show that the season has changed. First it was "no way Kimi back in F1" season, then there was "amazing fabulous unbelievable Kimi" season and "Kimi sucks" season has started  To get into headlines you must follow the trend of the season. Points are counted at end of the F1 racing season and then we'll see.

With all the respect to Canadian people and who like the guy, JV is a moron and only a douchebag like him would think something like Kimi needs more Lotus F1 than Lotus F1 needs Kimi. I´m not a diehard Kimi Raikkonen fan, even if I would appreciate see him doing good results he is one of the drivers I´m supporting, but I think that it´s pretty obvious that this Lotus team, even if they may be doing a good job with the car (not with strategy) are the lucky ones to have a driver like Kimi. So JV I mean c´mon.. shut up.

I would like to see JV returning and do what Raikkonen is doing. I´m sure he would be beaten by Grosjean by a big difference I remember well his years after the world title in 1997 he did nothing after that.

That German artickle was actually recycling the Hughes artickle. It's funny how the same bit of news/opinion keeps going round on the internet . Small changes, some twists here and there, and voila, you have fresh news about a controversial topic.

I disagree. Yes, Kimi is different to handle than most drivers and it is good if he is happy in his work. At the moment he is not 100 percent happy with his car, which is not a surprise given that the rookie Romain Grosjean is going faster than him. However, at the moment Raikkonen is sixth in the World Championship, with 55 points; Grosjean is seventh with 53. They are both ahead of Jenson Button and are the two best-placed drivers not to have won a race so far. It seems quite likely that the team will win a race sooner or later and there has been a fair bit of disappointment thus far. Bear in mind too that Lotus is stonking along in third place in the Constructors’ Championship, ahead of Ferrari and Mercedes, both of which are (effectively) one car teams at the moment as Michael Schumacher and Felipe Massa have both underperformed in terms of puttings points on the board.

The tittle-tattle all seems to emanate from comments made in Montreal by Jacques Villeneuve, who thinks that the Lotus is a great car and with a top driver it would be leading the championship. It is an interesting reflection, but then again the definition of a top driver is also a matter of opinion. When all is said and done top drivers are decided upon by their points scores…

It is true that Kimi has not been happy with the steering of the Lotus and that there is still a certain amount of sharp-edge knocking needed to get the relationship smooth, but one cannot fault what Kimi has achieved thus far. Maybe he does not have the raw speed that once he did, but he knows that winning championships is about scoring points and he is doing that very well.
Not everyday you read good stuff about Raikkonen on Joe's blog :p

You mean that "maybe he does not have the raw speed that once he did", or suggesting that he's not happy with the car because Romain is faster? :O ;) He basically says Kimi is not the best, but not crappy enough to get kicked out immidiately.
Thanks for the artickle anyway :)

I guess he's saying Grosjean is faster because Raikkonen is not happy with his car. At least he's saying Raikkonen has a chance to win the championship :p

Exactly what Kimi needs. Even the steering is not as big problem as front and rear tyre temperature unbalance in qualification. He needs to get high in starting grid and the rest will follow :O
