Hmmm... interesting. I've always thought of Hamilton as one of the bests, but I'd rather rank him with Vettel, since neither of them sat in a car that was really bad... McLaren had quite a few problems in the last few races, and sure enough, you didn't see Hamilton on the podium.
Anyways, I wouldn't say that Alonso and Hamilton are equal. Right now Fernando is the best driver on the grid (even though sometimes I feel like he really downplays how good the Ferrari is). But that's just my two cents. :)

Fernando > Lewis/Sebastian

That's my personal opinion. But it's difficult to look at them now. Fernando has 5 more seasons worth of experience than them. In 20 years time we can look back fully and see who was best.

It does seem like they've formed this kind of anti-Vettel alliance. 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend.'

I think they underestimate Vettel. I get the impression they think they could beat him in the same team, whenever Vettel does well Lewis always says how amazing the Red Bull is. It's not how well Sebastian's done, it's how good the car is. But if they were in the same team, I really think Vettel would surprise them.

In terms of results and numbers, I have to say in Vettel still has at least 2 more world championships in the future apart from this year's.

I actually rate all three of them equally. Apart from Lewis' recent slump in form, I cannot separate them whatsoever. All of them have great racecraft, qualifying pace, and race pace. I don't think we've ever had a Formula 1 era with such closeness among 3 drivers from 3 different teams.

Fernando > Vettel > Lewis > Kimi
I say it goes in that order. Don't know where to place Button in the mix...

Vettel is very mature and he just delivers. Maybe not the cleanest... but the guy can come from behind in both races and championships and brushes away adversity. Lewis is more fragile. Fast... but I think not as dependable as Vettel.

The other drivers are probably just trying to play games with Vettel... underestimating him to try and get some mental leverage.

Can I have a smug moment and say that for once, a lot of my predictions were actually good!

Also, we keep saying consistency is key, but Vettel has 3 non-scores, Alonso has 2 non-scores and Raikkonen 1 non-score. So maybe not so much!

They've been more consistently on the podium or in the top five though. :p

Wow, that's pretty impressive. It's tough to predict, but that's very close.

Consistency matters more for the slower cars; specially with the 25pts per win system. Mclaren and Webber have been hurt by inconsistency...

We don't know :n Button is known for having a very smooth driving style, i bet for Button to take place for Vettel...
Back when Button had a good performance overtaking Vettel and made Vettel pressured....

Great idea from Force India.

Because you can't have logos of alcoholic drinks in Abu Dhabi Whyte and MacKay are running a competition to have your name on the side of the car! Good bit of publicity.

You'll have to excuse me for not having been on the past few days. I've been rather busy!

I agree with what you're saying here although Vettel wouldn't be the first driver to be disregarded in such a manner, due to the fact that he's driving a superior machine. In fact it seems that any driver who races a Newey-designed car even once is instantly regarded as being a driver whose abilities are flattered by the car. For example Mark Webber has been subjected to similar criticism as he never won a race before he joined Red Bull. But memory of man is oh so short, isn't it? Many seem to forget his brilliant qualifying performances in mediocre machinery, earlier in his career (remember his front-row start for Jaguar, Malaysia 2004?). It seems the same people also forget that even then he put in a number great performances during races. Now he's coming closer to the end of his tenure in F1 at least, whoever replaces him at Red Bull will most likely have to bear what I like to call 'The Newey Curse'.
