Prost was one year away. Came back when he was 35 or so and won the WDC immediately. Niki Lauda was 33 when he came back after two years away. Won the WDC on third year after his return. I don't know if there are any other WDCs or anyone as old as Schumacher who have made a successful return. Yet if there is a team who wants to hire Schumacher, then as long as he is not a danger to other drivers, why not. It is their business. Or should there be a retirement age in F1mikhailv wrote:But no, I forget schumacher is even on the grid. He's shown nothing really. It is a different driver from before, and I wish he wasn't on the grid because theres only one comeback that worked; Prost. And that was after what, a year out?

australia- gearbox (~p3~p5 finish)
china- he is not suppose to drive auto rickshaw .. on three wheels!
bahrain - qlf rear wing failure + gearbox ... on pace with Rosberg ... cannot push to limits so starts whining about Tyre
Re: 2012 Formula One Discussion
Can't figure it. Now it looks that everybody in Lotus - except Kimi - are so happy about everything, even dropping out of Q3 on Saturday was so great tactical decision - I don't believe it was intentional. Kimi seems to be the only one with his feet on the ground. Others are hovering high above. What have they been sniffing; petrol, nitrous oxide?

HRT will not be attending the in-season test at Mugello next week, citing logistical issues due to their impending factory move and a need to focus on preparing for the Spanish GP.

The only sure way to get money out of Bernie - marry him and get divorced. Kind of hint to Mercedes and Brawn. So who should they sacrifice

Re: 2012 Formula One Discussion
But with Prost, not only did he jump into a dominant car, he also only had one season out and was 38 years old in 93, schuey came back when he was 40 didnt he? but shuey injured his shoulder in motorbike racing didn't he? Some people even argued that in 2005/2006 he was past it. I argue that his dominant car made him too combfy and that he wasn't past it, he just wasn't as superior as people reputed him to be. I just think Schuey started going downhill when the advantage and favouritism by the stewards and the FIA left Ferrari. When the Bridgestone advantage left, his superiority was gone, and the other drivers didnt, respect isn't the right word, but on track they didnt fear or respect him and moved out of the way, they were forceful, resistant and fought bitterly with him, and I dont think he was used to that, he wasn't used to his tactics being used against him.reppo wrote:Prost was one year away. But either way, Prost was much more competative, in a more competative car and was in superb health, especially after prost wanted to buy Ligeir in 92.
