At present day the latest information that I have about him is not not very good. He can not drink using the hand, i mean he can not take a glass and drink so it does not look too good. I think his injury is worse than expected. Of course I would like him to come back, because without a doubt he deserves to be in F1."

There is also entire audio of the interview. The audio is 20 minutes long and they are talking about Robert in the 14th minute of the recording.

Kubica's condition can't be as that bad, because he tested a skoda fabia wrc somewhere in Italy.

Danica would have been interesting to see in F1, but she is not interested. There is no "danger" of seeing Villota in F1 race, except if something very strange happens. She is maybe too old and do not have enough merits to get a race seat. Patrick would have been an other matter. She would definitely have raised interest of F1 in US. In US there are successful female race drivers, but for some reason racing doesn't interest women so much in Europe. Is it harder to get a racing seat or is it just that at some point women get interested in other things, or maybe both. Anette Latva-Piikkilä was a good kart driver but she never went higher than European Formula A kart series.

However it is, I can't see a reason why women could not be successful in F1, but don't see it good if a woman or a man for that matter gets a seat just for a publicity stunt. If anyone gets into F1 he or she must have enough talent not to spoil the reputation of the series. I agree that a poor female racer in F1 could make it harder for other females in getting to F1.

Rally cars can be adapted to many things. The first case that jumps to my mind is Albert Llovera that drives an S2000 in the WRC even if he sits in a wheelchair.

I think until Kubica himself is 'seen' or he releases a statement or does an interview, we might never know the true extent of his injuries and recovery progress.

Exactly, all these pictures and rumours. I'll wait to hear news from the man himself.

the guy had a horrific injury that almost cost his life. Wouldn't blame him if he decides he doesn't wanna race.

And it doesn't look a particularly natural position in the last one either :(

That's natural given he's not been training like he would have been when driving in F1. If he recovers enough from injury to have the capability to drive an F1 car again, he'll have to do a lot of training to get back up to fitness!

Apparently Vettel is the 5th youngest driver on the grid this year, wow.

There isn't one good photo of Robert's right hand. Anyway it is impossible to judge his condition just from photos. I wouldn't say he is in too bad shape to come back some day. Even he had a severe accident and probably had damaged nerves in his arm, he can recover and get full functionality back into the arm. Nerves in limbs grow back unlike in central nervous system, but it requires time and exorcise. When I was a kid I broke my left hand. It was operated but fingers did not anymore work as before and the wrist was little swollen because they failed to fix the ligaments in the wrist. Had to give up guitar playing (and that's the reason :<>: I never became a world famous rock star  ). My doctor said that my left hand fingers might never work correctly again and better find an other hobby. About five years after the operation I noticed that I could again move my fingers separately and the wrist was looking quite. I hadn't payed much attention to my left hand since with electronics and computers it didn't matter at all. I asked a doctor how did it happen since after the surgery my little, ring and middle fingers were moving more or less together as much as they moved at all. He just said that nerves can grow back and brain knows what to do with them. My left hand eventually became fully functional and only thing which is left is a scar from the operation.

Nowadays they even know there is a way to help nerve cells to grow back:
How Injured Nerves Grow Themselves Back
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/20 ... 141144.htm

If Robert is determined, patient and stubborn enough he can get back to F1. I'm sure of that :O
