Ideal times live in ideal world. In ideal world Grosjean would have won Räikkönen instead of being all over the track and grass. Unfortunately real world facts mess up ideal times :p Interesting comparison though. ''hmm'' How about comparing with two or three or five fastest laps. It would be interesting too.

Hamilton's problem is that he has such talent that he drives around a problem. Button can't do this so that's where you see the set-up improved. Imagine if Hamilton nailed a set-up every weekend...

Yes, the rules were designed specifically to hit Red Bull hard. Vettel winning just one of the first thirteen races shows that, because he couldn't drive the way he had been doing since the start of 2010. Vettel's driving style is peculiar in that he prefers to use the exhaust to prevent oversteer on entry and that's how he can carry the extra speed.

Bahrain for Red Bull was a bit of a mirage. Webber's pace wasn't strong and it was really the tyres, combined with Lotus's qualifying failure, Ferrari's slow pace and McLaren's pit stop problems and having to modify the car after the FIA told them to change something after China.

I was thinking about it earlier - usually Catalunya is the benchmark for how good a car is, but this year it was Red Bull's worst track.

@reppo - Fastest race laps are difficult because of strategies employed.

Oh, and Grosjean could have won Valencia had the alternator not failed. This is what's exciting for 2013 - Raikkonen's comeback was very good, but... had he started the season better in qualifying, he should have a couple more wins.

Yeah and I'm shock for Piquet when he was saying Alonso would be the champion in 2012 if he had been at the wheel of a Sauber. LoL!

Slade said Kimi had to change his driving style and it was hard for him. Interesting to see how he manages in 2013 and specially in qualification.

Yeah. I don't know if Kimi has it in him to win the title, but 2013 could be good if he can qualify a little higher. Maybe Hamilton's move to Mercedes could help him in that respect! :p

Kimi was a little rusty when the car was very strong but when he improved, the car stagnated a little.

His making some good performance in Abu Dhabi. I think he would be improved for 2013.:

If you don't want to watch this whole video just watch the first minute for Newey's Marko impression.

 "...you will ring me". Sounds more like an order than a request - not that Marko really ment it that way I think.

Lol vettel ; 'we won races we shouldnt'

barcelona 2011; you were faster everwhere but the straight. it showed superiority that even with lack of straightline you were so superior even against kers/drs.

Monaco 2011- saved by changing tyres. wouldnt have won if it wasnt for changing under red flag. Thats not driving to a win you shouldnt have.

How about you stop criticizing for a bit and concentrate more on the coming season? Maybe, just maybe, your favorite driver can hope for another championship fight...

Its funny thats vettels best attempt at saying that he won races he shouldnt have. Even funnier is vettels fans! If Alonso wins another wdc, cool! If not, it was his fault for 2007 and 2008, and lotus' fault for 2012. Thats life. pretty sure i can sleep easy about something which has no affect on my life. Dont let the door hit your woman bits on the way out, and dont slip on your tears because everyone under the sun still doesnt rate vettel in the top 2!

Anyway now im off my mobile i can flesh it out abit;

Basically, it seems like vettel is trying to say 'but I won, and look at these two hard grafted wins I got in clearly the best car on the grid. I shouldnt have won them because my straightline speed sucked and I was about to be overtaken by Fernando Alonso and even jenson button on old tyres but a safety car meant I had a free change'. Not driving the b*** of a slower car that shouldnt win, its a win about the driver exceeding expectation and the car, like Hamilton in singapore 2009, Alonso in Malaysia 2012. Vettels not had one of them.

I cant even say Monza 2008, because both STR's were 1st and second and vettel set the 3rd or 4th fastest lap.

As I glanced at the picture of Alonso, for a second I thought he is about to punch Vettel in the face. :D

No-one's trying to say Vettel is better than Alonso, because the Spaniard can do amazing things with a bad car. But over the past two years, Vettel has taken 16 wins to Webber's 3. And but for a faulty gearbox, it'd be 17-2. Vettel has won races he had no right to win, but also lost a few in 2011 he should have won. But he's still only 25 and has yet to reach his peak.

Phil, I understand your reasoning, we all have favorite drivers and we all see what happens. Unfortunately, some people, naming them is not needed, keep being stubborn in their hate, it comes mostly from despair and the fact that they are sore losers, but that's life. There will always be someone who throws sh*t at everything that's not the way he/she wanted. But, those are just mostly ignored persons, there are better things to think about. For example, I can't wait to see the new, PRETTIER cars! :)
