Nah, I genuinely believe Virgin can get into the midfield by 2013. Tie-up with McLaren really helped Force India so it should help Virgin. I expect he has get out clauses such that if a better team comes calling and Virgin has failed to achieve the targets in his contract, then he can leave

I see you're very optimistic about their performance in the future, I'm not so sure about that despite the McL tie-up. Furthermore, he's already 29 and with him scoring podiums at his time at Toyota, even a seat at a lower-midfield team wouldn't be too satisfying. Also, he doesn't bring big sponsor money with him, does he? And with F1 teams looking more and more on driver-related sponsorship again (Renault, Williams, Sauber), he isn't in the best position to get a decent seat in the near future. Shame really.

Mallya said he'll announce his driver lineup around December 15th. I want to see Hulkenberg back in action :thumbsup:

That's good news, at least these two promising talents will stay in F1. I'm surprised, however, that Kobayashi, with the speed, determination and overtaking prowess he's shown, has not yet attracted the attention of bigger teams. Let's hope he gets an opportunity in 2013 then.

Driver market this year will be relatively static. 2012-13 will be the big one: Massa, Button, Hamilton, Webber (probably), Rosberg, Schumacher, Petrov and others will be out of contract. Nothing will beat 2009-10, lots of funny rumours in that one

Blick's veteran correspondent Roger Benoit raised the possibility that Nico Hulkenberg could return to Williams next year to replace Rubens Barrichello.
Wut? :roll::

Great to see Sauber retain Kobayashi and Perez.

Also, there's a possibility in my view we could see Buemi replace Trulli at Team Lotus- I doubt Buemi will be kept for yet another year at STR and Trulli's looking increasingly unlikely to be retained.

I was watching Sport und Talk aus dem Hangar-7 tonight (Sport show in Mateschitz's TV) and Webber was there.

He said that he might retire at the end of this season, that he will make a decission about it in the next few weeks.

AMuS says that Williams is talking to Sutil and Hulkenberg about a 2012 contract. Barrichello's place is unsure, Maldonado is secure.

The only chance for Lewis Hamilton now is Mercedes. McLaren have a strange policy that will never help Lewis be a World champion again. Lewis is making mistakes and playing game with Button on track while Vettel is collecting and soon to become a double world champion. It’s time for Lewis to take his career seriously and go to Mercedes and build a solid team. With the right people and a good budget, Mercedes can build a winning car. Lewis is wasting his time at McLaren, he’s not having the right focus and management to be world champion, they more focus on Button and his girlfriend. Time for Lewis to move on.
