Why? I mean, true, I hardly noticed him all season except when he was being lapped, but in the second half of the season, he was generally a tenth or two off Glock (a very good driver who might even be winning by now in a good car) and he wasn't so much of a lapping annoyance was he?tderias wrote:wow d'ambrosio was the biggest flop wasnt he... most unpopular driver of all time?
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

We already knew that would be at most two Brazilians in Formula 1 in 2012. Apparently, Rubens Barrichello was the choice of Frank Williams to continue the development of FW 34. But according to the journalist Ricardo Boechat, Bruno Senna signed a financial package with Eike Baptista, Gillette and other supporters. Family sources also reported that Bruno was at the factory in Woking last week.
At any time, Adam Parr, the man who takes care of the finances of the English team, should anounce, giving an other chance to Bruno, and which we regret, the retirement of a frustrated Barrichello. In the end, became a battle of Brazilians: Barrichello would have made $ 5 million from supporters, but Eike assembled a package far more advantageous, that tipped the balance.
This information "leaked", however, may still be a way for supporters of Senna demobilize any other competitor for the job, as the sponsors of the German Adrian Sutil and Barrichello's own. With Senna and Maldonado, Williams would be in serious trouble in terms of leadership, especially to fit the new car. Bruno was completely lost when the Renault lost its way at the end of this season. Still, showed speed when the car was in good condition.

I assume this is the mistake of the journalist; Williams's factory is at Grove.frubbs wrote:http://www.correiodopovo.com.br/blogs/pitlane/?p=4815We already knew that would be at most two Brazilians in Formula 1 in 2012. Re: 2011-12 Silly Season
Well if he did go to Woking, the perhaps Plan B is a drive with McLaren in sports-cars in the MP4-12C
Re: 2011-12 Silly Season
Maybe he wants to replace de la Rosa
Re: 2011-12 Silly Season
There is a Spanish media suggesting Mercedes is interested in Jaime (Brawn was one of those team bosses who talked good about Jaime) as a 3rd driver. I know being a 3rd driver is pretty much doing nothing, however, if he's able to keep his presence in F1 and alongside Brawn no more and no less he may have a chance for 2013 at other team (or who knows, maybe Mercedes ).
Still, just rumours tho.

Well one of the Renault owners said signing Grosjean and no longer having a pay driver showed their seriousness and intent.

What to make of this? Close to signing a contract? Hope? Blind optimism? Or Rubens just stirring things up?
