Lol no positive for me as I wont be watching. Hope kimi does well though.cheng.damien wrote:Bro,mikhailv wrote:Lets be honest, shouldnt be making a come back. He should never a bloody left in the first place. He should be partnering Alonso at ferrari, and to be honest, that partnership would be best on the grip, because I firmly believe Raikkonen is better than lewis, jenson and vettel. Id probably say, Alonso is an inch better, but thats because of his constant hunger which kimi can lack. He's got the speed and relentlessness when he wants it.
he is wasting his talent at Lotus/renault/lada/tata/proton, and that wanker known as Eric Boullier and the pathetic Genii capital which has murdered the team will do nothing. It will never get higher than 5th in the championship because Mercedes/ferrari/mclaren/redbull are miles better, and have better people.
losing Flavio, Pat and Bob and the mechanics which worked with Alonso, is a massive blow. The R30 was a car that was mostly designed under flavio as they started the design in april, stopping all developments on the R29 from silverstone (a car, which Alonso got a podium with and was 3 months old).
They were Team Renault F1. I dont agree with what happened, but them men MADE that team what it was; double world champions with 20 wins and 34 podiums from 02-09 totalling 54 trips on the podium.
its a big mistake from kimi going there. And I wish to god ferrari would've ditched felipe and took Kimi back, he should never have left.
Look on the positive side, this is one of the best news in a long time, good to see Kimi back.
Now if only we have the V10s back..

Re: 2011-12 Silly Season
Have you noticed that Charles Pic is going to be the ONLY rookie driver next season? it is a bit strange that we won't have new names...
A craven can be as brave as any man, when there is nothing to fear. And we all do our duty, when there is no cost to it. How easy it seems then, to walk the path of honor.
Re: 2011-12 Silly Season
Its because we have a lot of young drivers anyway. At the start of 2009, only rookie was Buemi.

personally i think guys like Barrichello should leave F1. yes they are great drivers, they have given us some brilliant moments in the recent F1 history, but these days there are only 24 seats and many drivers who deserve a seat, for example Hulkenberg, he is a great driver but he is just seating in pitwall because there is no room for him, even Rubens could not enter F1 if old guys haven't left.

Disappointing that Maldonado stays. Not seeing him on the entry list got my hopes up.

Williams sure have a bit of a history of handling unceremonioius driver exits rather poorly, but this one takes the cake: confirming Maldonado the unspectacular rookie, and leaving Barrichello, winner of eleven races and clearly the better performing Williams driver over the last two seasons, hanging without an answer, and with rather negative signals being sent.
Seriously, it's just insulting. If he has any pride left, Barrichello ought to give them the finger and slam the door on Williams before they officially show him the exit.

there is no magic.
They need money and Maldonado brings it.
I think it is a Manager´s job to bring partners and money to the team, but if a driver does it for them, they have the right to accept.

Oh yeah that worked wonders for their 2011 campaign.frubbs wrote:there is no magic.

On a related note, I'm curious: has a team ever managed to turn its fortunes around and improve after effectively prostituting one or both of their race seats to the highest bidder? Maybe you could argue Renault did just that in 2010, but with the recruitment of a top-profile driver for next year and the likely exit of Petrov, it looks like they have radically changed their minds. I can't think of any real example of a pay-driver's money salvaging an ailing team, but perhaps somebody could correct me on that one.

The FW33 is a disaster. No Driver in the world could help it. You can´t use it to compare or sustain any theory.François wrote:Oh yeah that worked wonders for their 2011 campaign.

I tried to find something on google but it really seens you are right. Maybe this is not a path that leads to success.
In other hand, Frank has his bills to pay and the only exit he has now is Pastor´s money. I still accept his decision.
Something i didn' know is that Michael and Fernando also were pay drivers once in their career: http://www.f1wolf.com/2008/05/demise-of ... thing.html

Re: 2011-12 Silly Season
Of course I can. The news of Hülkenberg being replaced by Maldonado came right at the end of 2010. The FW33 is a disaster that was engineered with the backing of Maldonado's venezuelian dollars, both for its initial design and for its development throughout 2011. Either money doesn't solve anything, or he didn't give them quite enough.frubbs wrote:The FW33 is a disaster. No Driver in the world could help it. You can´t use it to compare or sustain any theory.
The team is on a downwards spiral since 2005. If Frank's only exit is one that will keep the performance and results plummeting, maybe he should just, err, sell the team? Because I didn't know he was interested in fighting for 9th in the WCC at the cost of his team's dignity. Seriously. In other hand, Frank has his bills to pay and the only exit he has now is Pastor´s money. I still accept his decision.
