Well its the point that he bad mouths the other drivers and talks like he was a legend that they keep talking to him, because then people complain and get their friends to read it or buy the mag or watch the interview because they are annoyed...

All publicity is good publicity ...

Friesacher wasn't that bad I thought, he only had problems with sponsors, he could quite measure himself to his teammate.

Yuji Ide, Alex Yoong (however, in A1 is he ding fine), Jan Magnussen (or isn't that recent enough?) belong to my worst-list

I think:

Yuji Ide
Huub Rothengatter
Gregor Foitek

Rothengatter drove somewhere in the 70's. I have no idea about Foitek. There are such a lot of bad F1 drivers. Altough they're often not bad in other racing series

Joong is a strong candidate for that "trophy" :cheesy:

Really interesting thread

For me the 5 worst were : Yuji Ide, Alex Yoong, Esteban Tuero, Norberto Fontana and Tarso Marques but there are so any other "bad" drivers .... The list is too long

Yuji Ide by far... and Takuma Sato. He made some stupid mistakes a while back.

My advice

Wow, Dark Fisico, I don't want to be a smart ass, but they're all in this picture!

Image

Certainly Fisi (183/3), Trulli(171/1) and Jenson (124/1) are competing for the title of most over paid, over rated, under performing of the active drivers. Almost 500 starts and only 5 wins between them?! And it wasn't for lack of machinery!

The other two in this picture are so on their way to F1 obscurity I can't even bother myself with the stats.... :)

:lol: I'm guessing you don't like any of my boys then  ...

Fisico and Trulli should have won more between them sure, but I still think no matter what anyone says, the fact that Fisi has been around THAT long talks for itself... As for Trulli atleast he isn't giving up in Toyota like Ralf is...

Jense is more because I grew up down the road from him... Liuzzi probably is overrated but he's Italian  and Albers, well I'll let Nelnesy protect him...

You grew up near Jense! That's neat! I went to Goodwood one time and literally bumped into him as he was comming back from a hill climb. He actually apologized!

Yeah I don't seriously dislike any of them but the questions was asked about who we thought were the worst recent drivers.

I lived in london for several years right around the time he joined williams and the country went buttonmania. I hope he can turn things around at Honda with Barrichello.

Fisi I am disappointed with because I think he's a serial underachiever. He never put any pressure on Alonso in races or qualifying, unlike what Irvine, Barrichello, Coulthard did with Miki & Schumi

He was at Renault at a time in which he should have racked up the wins or the podiums (at least). Trulli would have done a better job than Fisi IMHO.

I can't disagree with you, I love Trulli, I think if we mixed bits of Trulli and Fisico together they could produce a good driver, but neither of them have the killer instinct needed to win races regulary...

Coming from the South-West I'm think I've missed out on Buttonmania, we never got anything F1 related in any of our papers... I think thats why I can't see how he's overrated, because he isn't even rated in Plymouth ...

Thinking about it more, had trulli stayed at Renault he probably would have come away with more wins than Fisi and maybe even changed the outcome of the championship.

Maybe Alonso was lucky that trulli left Renault.

Plymouth is a good place. That entire southern coast is special. The cliffs over at beachy head... I dated a Virgin Atlantic stewardess who lived in Brighton... great, great times down there... I can't remember the names of all the places i went to but this club called honey right on the shore (20ft from the sand) which jumps out at me because the talent was so impressive...

Anyhow enjoy!
