In the video Ali posted, the RB7 & MP4-26 look very good under braking.

Has anyone see the exhaust pipes from Mclaren? Is in back under the diffuser or in front under the side pods like Renault!

Button said there is a full second difference between the super soft and soft tires. Then there is a half second difference between each step after that. This makes it even harder to decode lap times. Schumacher’s lap times rapidly falling off on the super soft tires should be expected as it should be expected from any other car on the super softs. The Mercedes looked reasonable on the long runs as did Ferrari and Red Bull.

I don't think Nick Heidfeld can win the WDC, he should focus on trying to get podiums first. Unless the R31 is a car as dominant as the BGP001 was. Which I very much doubt.

To me it seems as if its between last years top 3 again, but I can't decide. Red Bull looks like its amazing, but the MP4-26 hasn't done any serious running. Ferrari impressed in testing last year and we all thought they were best but we were wrong. Worrying sign is Webber says the RB7 hasn't been tested on the best tyres on low fuel.

Mercedes are struggling I think. Both drivers sounded glum and the car has had a few issues. Already pinning hopes on a Bahrain upgrade is striking of a team low on confidence. Renault look quick, but not overly quick. Midfield is very unpredictable - I think it will change on a race by race basis to be honest. BUT Lotus' time of 1.21 today, whatever you say, is quite quick and is a sure sign they'll be in Q2 rather than Q1. Easily challenging STR. Virgin also seem to have taken a step up but not as big as Lotus. God knows about HRT.

Any predictions on Bruno binning the car tomorrow, i go for yes :p

Force India havent yet started evaluating their KERS and movable rear wing. Though i agree with Paul when he says that they need to get their basic milage in unlike other teams who are already testing their new deivices, but still they need to test those as quickly as possible so as to check whether they are functioning as expected, them being a smaller team, will find it hard to get changes in their system on time if something isnt right

Hulkenberg's views on the cars:

Second corner:
- Red Bull: early on throttle, stable throught the whole corner, stable during accelaration
- Toro Rosso: Has to back off in the next lefthander, less stable, more understeer. Getting worse every lap as the tyres go off.
- Marussia Virgin: Very bad understeer, blocks the inner front wheel during braking, suspension settings are "bruatally stiff"

Chicane:
- Mercedes: Rosberg attack the curbes heavily. He likes the balance of the Mercedes
- Toro Rosso: well balanced
- Virgin: Glock wrestling the car through it. Stiff suspension. Has to brake 5 meter earlier than other cars
- Ferrari: unstable under braking (could be due to KERS). Best car in high speed corners.
- Renault: Petrov takes a different line through the chicane. Sounds like 'damaged' engine

Two corners before chicane:
- Renault: almost no understeer, but instable rear under braking
- Mercedes: stable rear, but a lot more understeer
- Ferrari: understeer, but early on the throttle. Even when unstable easy to drive. Looks faster than Mercedes
- Toro Rosso: wobbling rear

Fast lefthander:
- Ferrari on a different line than Mercedes, but Ferrari looks a lot faster. Mercedes seems to be heavier though.
- Sauber: nervous rear end
- Toro Rosso: Alguersuari uses the kerbs on the exit, meaning he has confidence in the car as a little understeer will put you off track.

Final corner:
Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren are all stable under braking, and the drivers are early on the throttle The three are quite close together in the same league.

Rubens time is good, but - no offense to Williams - it shows the big guns are still hiding.

Here's Mr. Senna in the R31. Probably the only run he'll get in it all season

A pic for the heavens! A shame that his talent isn't on the same level as his second name.
