Oh please, tell it's true

No :p But Italian press is reporting that Ferrari will take legal action if further punishments are applied.

Aah, and that again will lead to the 'never-heard-before' threats

"I am very pleased Niki has denied making these statements: it shows that fresh air is really good for you!" wrote the team's website columnist, known as the Horse Whisperer.

Why do they have to be so snarky even after they find out that Lauda didn't say that Image

Massa, Alonso, summoned to FIA team orders hearing

Ferrari's race drivers have been summoned by the FIA to the forthcoming disciplinary hearing of the World Motor Sport Council.

That is the claim of the Spanish sports daily AS, which on Friday said both Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa must appear either in person in Paris or via video link.

The pair swapped positions during July's German Grand Prix at Hockenheim, allegedly due to the imposition of an illegal team order.

Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali said before leaving Spa-Francorchamps last weekend that he was "sure the World Council will understand our point" on September 8.

But some, including Red Bull's Helmut Marko, are hoping the outcome will be a points loss for the Italian team and its drivers.

"No, I don't think so, we're relaxed," said Alonso last Sunday.

After Wednesday's hearing, it is expected the verdict will be published later that day.

As well as the drivers and legal team, boss Domenicali and team manager Massimo Rivola are also slated to be in attendance at Place de la Concorde.

And it gets better

Ferrari; Three hypotheses for Paris
Published by Leo Turrini Mon, 06/09/2010 - 11:55

Ferrari will be in front of the FIA World Council in Paris on Thursday for the event in Hockenheim, slowing 'voluntary' Massa for the benefit of Alonso, who then wins the race. In Ferrari they are confident of the outcome. After 48 hours of meeting associates, Jean Todt announced that he will not participate in the Council, for obvious reasons of convenience and memory ...) There are three hypotheses that can be reasonably discussed.

1) The Council decides not to decide. Ferrari has already been sanctioned in Germany with the famous fine of one hundred thousand dollars. No one would lose face and I would burst out laughing.

2) The Council believes that Ferrari has exaggerated. And they have 'the smoking gun': the audio recording of Alonso screaming 'This is ridicolous' when Massa doesn't let him past. Since when has a driver the right to consider the proper conduct of a colleague who is in front ridiculous? The reaction of the Spanish shows that the Brazilian was violating an agreement they had before the start. We face a clear alteration of developments in the German GP. Penalize the Scuderia: zero points. But no punishment for the drivers. For the Horse it would be half a humiliation but still manageable.

3) The Council rules. The rules are clear and they have been broken. I know that some members of the World Council have been handed a dossier showing that the major betting agencies, from July 25th, stopped getting bets because of what happened between the Brazilian and Spanish, which did enormous damage to the credibility of F1, from Oceania to Asia via Europe and North America. To me however, an outcome that dramatic is almost unbelievable. It would be the burial of di Montezemolo in Ferrari, it would be a disaster for the Banco Santander, which matters a lot in the pits and not only in the environment of 'red', it would be a shock for Maranello at the eve of the Grand Prix at Monza and it would certainly unleash hell, them turning immediately to the Court of Paris ...

Fortunately, there is a majority of objective Ferrari fans who realized that Ferrari did wrong and deserve punishment.

But then there's the other lot who honestly even don't think that the betting-thing is important. Not important :fear:

Big amounts of money circulate in betting agencies so it's hardly any peanuts...

Don't think Ferrari actually care about how much money is going around at betting agencies, they just want to win at all costs. :zz:

It does look like it's more about the image. Remember how Räikkönen started the season 2009 as driver #2?

That was also one of Ferrari's smart choices
