Sharing seats is a rotten idea, you need to let drivers gain in confidence and momentum and let them build a rapport with the team. Also the pressure of sharing your seat and knowing that a bad performance might lose you your seat for a few races could be disastrous for a young driver.

You pick two drivers for a season, and barring injury or terrible performance stick with them. Swapping around performance-wise does no good at all.

totally agree with you. fixing 10 races each at start of season is no use IMO

Force India apparently confirming drivers tomorrow. STR deny Abu Dhabi link.

Bilck has deleted the article on Force India - suggests that Fifi had a word with them.

Apparently Blick's source was Willi Weber (Hülk's manager), who took a step backwards the next day and said things won't be sorted out before a couple weeks, claiming he's still "talking with several teams".

Meanwhile, Sutil's manager has repeated the same story as ever: there's an agreement with FI and the contract is ready, but has yet to be signed. He too said the official announcement is due in a couple weeks. I'm assuming they've made up their minds but just don't want Sutil to announce it before they do.

Ferrari replace Dyer with Fry, hire Martin
Quote:
Ferrari have announced a few changes to their engineering team over the Christmas break which will see the appointment of two Englishmen to senior positions within the outfit.

Ex-McLaren chief engineer Pat Fry, who joined the outfit last year, will takeover Chris Dyer's role as head of race track engineering.

Dyer had been responsible for strategic decisions, leading to speculation that he has been relieved of such duty after an error in Abu Dhabi which possibly led to Fernando Alonso missing out on his third title.

The Italian outfit confirmed Dyer's future position at the team would be confirmed in the next few days.

Meanwhile, Neil Martin, an ex-Red Bull and McLaren employee, will be joining the team for the 2011 season to head up the new operations research department. He will report directly to Aldo Costa, Ferrari's technical director.

In a separate statement, the Scuderia confirmed that the 2011 chassis had undergone, and passed, critical crash tests.

So McLaren didn't want Hulkenberg as test driver, so Button can drive free of any pressure? Think that's a bit weak...

Black livery? Er, no: the same Rocket Red & chrome finish that you've grown to love since Vodafone McLaren Mercedes was born in 2007. That's official, btw!
