It would be nice if Epsilon Euskadi merge with HRT and the Villeneuve/Durango team being the 13rd team ( to be honest I want to see Villeneuve back in F1 :p )

The FIA has not granted the 13th slot for 2011. It says "none of the candidates met the requirements".

The FIA has as widely expected confirmed that there will be no 13th team in 2011, after decreeing that none of the potential candidates met the requirements.

An FIA statement read as follows: ”Following the press release of 19 March 2010 calling for expressions of interest to participate in the 2011 and 2012 seasons of the FIA Formula One World Championship, a number of interested parties expressed their interest. It was considered that none of the candidates met the requirements to be granted an entry into the Championship.

“Consequently, the allocation of the 13th team will not be granted.”
FIA confirm 20 races for 2011, starting Bahrain, ending Brazil on Nov 27, including India on Oct 30.

13/03 Bahrain
27/03 Australia
10/04 Malaysia
17/04 China

28/08 Belgium
11/09 Italy
25/09 Singapore
09/10 Japan
16/10 Korea

its how it should be, im also happy that Brazil has the final race - so F1 goes into winter break with a cracking race as a goodbye for 2011

Suzuka should host the season finale, its what I grew up with and its also a fantastic track, fitting for a championship climax.

Also the season ends on the 27th of November. That's the latest its been in decades, and means the final race will be in the Brazilian winter.

The calendar is quite good. A few races switched (Turkey moved earlier to R5, Spain and Monaco therefore shift a bit later). Glad its ending in Brazil, but starting in Bahrain isn't great. Also note that the Italian GP is 10 years on since 11/9/2001 so there's a slim chance it might move a week earlier.

Races:
Asia - 9
Europe - 8
N. America - 1
S. America - 1
Australia - 1
