Are Red Bull really as fast as we're making them out to be?
Are Red Bull really as fast as we're making them out to be?
Okay, so six poles out of six, but if you look at the data, they seem to pull it out of the bag in Q3 rather than Q1 & Q2. Which begs the question, are they as fast over one lap as we're making them out to be or are others not maximising their potential in Q3.
Q1 Monaco
1. F. Massa 1:14.757
2. M. Webber 1:15.035
4. S. Vettel 1:15.110
Q2 Monaco
1. N. Rosberg 1:14.375
3. M. Webber 1:14.462
6. S. Vettel 1:14.568
Q1 China
1. L. Hamilton 1:35.641
2. M. Webber 1:35.978
7. S. Vettel 1:36.317
Q2 China

No, i think RB are still quicker. It is just that they are doing what is required to get into Q3. As all (pr most) tracks, Q3 times are quickest

I second sdutt

As Lewis said .. "The Red Bull is ridiculously faster than anyone else's car".

Red Bull gives you wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiings
I still find it awesome that -as Martin Brundle said on the BBC F1 Forum yesterday- an energy drink manufacturer beats the Ferrari's and the McLaren's. A team without any motorsports history. Thumbs up for that, Dietrich Mateschitz.

Hamilton should have got the pole in China, but for some reason his car didn't work in Q3, which was a really big shame.
I agree with Zack. I think Newey has built a super car from the beginning this year, not just the last second half of the season like 09. Just like Hamilton says: "I'm praying every day that we're going to beat them once."

I am sure that you too are doing the same JoostJoostLamers wrote: "I'm praying every day that we're going to beat them once."

Unlike last year ... secret of speed/downforce is mystery this year. Dynamic suspension was bad joke and probably created to confuse other teams, enough time wasted on it
To me top5 order at the moment seems to be :
RBR (kudos to Newey)
Mclaren (thanks to F-duct)
Ferrari ~ Renault (not sure)
Mercedes

Red Bull has really done their home work over the winter

Re: Are Red Bull really as fast as we're making them out to
Red Bull Racing is really, really fast. Their car is mighty through the fat corners. I think Webber could have gone much faster in Spain and Monaco. About the quali, I think Red Bull sets times to get them through Q1 and Q2. Why should they be so fast when it doesn't matter? They are fast when they need it to be, in Q1, the pole position shoot out. And in the race.

Isn't that already clear? It's the exhaust who's doing itZack wrote:Unlike last year ... secret of speed/downforce is mystery this year. Dynamic suspension was bad joke and probably created to confuse other teams, enough time wasted on it

I found out why RBR car is very fast
Re: Are Red Bull really as fast as we're making them out to
Would that be the reason? I thought all racing cars are female. For sure Hamilton and Vettel refer to their cars as female.iceman1 wrote:I found out why RBR car is very fast
