You're right. It has nothing of the aspects of Monaco or Montreal. It runs between industrial stockhouses and sea containers. From onboard, the only thing you see is grey concrete and tarmac. I don't understand why they build this track in the first place. There is a nice racetrack just outside the city.

You're both absolutely right, and I was wondering the same thing R.?; why go through the trouble of building a street circuit (which is pretty lame anyway) when there's a purpose built permanent circuit that the teams use for testing anyway not far away?

Robert Kubica has been quoted as saying this when asked his opinion of the adjustable rear wing:

"Why is it only now that people are noticing that overtaking is difficult? ... I watched my first Formula One race in 1997, and there was not much overtaking then."

A boring track is not always a bad track. Valencia has nothing that makes it special. But the Hungaroring is boring as well. But we've seen some nice action down there. Who doesn't remember Hill losing out to Villeneuve on the last lap in 1997. It has atmpsphere and good history. Like Barcelona. Track itself is nothing special, but it's always crowded and we've seen some great racing there.
