Apparently they might get Nokia as a sponsor, which accordinng to Eric Bouiller that might attract Kimi.

I've got an idea for Renault, put Kobayashi in it! He already scored more points than Petrov

Kobayashi is fast. Bu slighly unpredicable and sometimes too wild. Like in Canada, where he got up from 16th to 9th. Tried to seize 8th place and ended up in the wall of champions. He'll be faster and better, but I think that untill then, Renault would leave him at Sauber. Untill he's more experienced.

And I don't see Kimi driving for Renault. He want a winning car in a big team. And a big salary as well.

Kobayashi is such a lovable driver, he alternates between steady mediocrity and crazy driving that brings up old fashioned, out of date, wartime Japanese stereotypes ("Banzai!!! Kamikaze!!! etc).

Seriously I think he's a decent driver who with a good car and a good team can get good results. He appears to be a better racer than qualifier, with Toyota his racing was better than his qualifying and this season he's not qualified very well but has had the occasional great race. He's also the only Japanese driver in F1 currently, that means he probably he has lots of Far East sponsorship that will help his path to a better team than Sauber.

Tag heuer is Mclaren sponsor right now ''hmm''

OT: Nokia is losing its Market hold rapidly to Blackberry and Apple. Future products don't seem to be appealing as such and current N900 is badly marketed.

I think that's the reason why they do not sign Raikkonen. With all these sponsors, they have a solid amount of money coming in. With Raikkonen in the team they will lose all that money to him as salary. Because I don't think Kimi will drive there for 1 million a year.... Given the fact he received 25 million a year at Ferrari/

Not this again. A Finnish sponsor, must mean Kimi's back!!! Yay!!! (Hope you can detect the sarcasm)

Yep. I'd rather have Kamui at Renault than Kimi. They won't win the championship with Koba tho..

btw. forget about the nokia sponsorship. I think it was only a 1 time rumour. Mastercard should be possible. Don't forget they already did this kinda things in the late 90s

Mastercard sponsored Lola, forced them to enter a year earlier than planned and the car was 13 seconds off the pace and couldn't even change gear. Nokia sponsored Tyrrell briefly when Mika Salo drove for them, without great results or investment.

On Renault, if Kubica goes you'd think they'll try and get another fairly big name, their system of a pay driver (Petrov) and a team leader works well. Heidfeld, Kobayashi, Sutil and maybe even Massa (not convinced Ferrari will keep him on current form) are possibilities for them next year if Kubica leaves.
