I think Sauber are running light to get sponsors. I don't think they're doing a Brawn... they won't be able to keep up with development either.

That would be a smart choice from them. Would be nice to see Toshiba raping the field though

Yeah, I think Sauber will be competing for some decent points at the start of the season providing the drivers are up to it (the lineup looks a bit flimsy, I'd be more confident with Heidfeld in there myself) but then they'll probably fade as Peter Sauber said the budget is small and they'll struggle to develop.

It's quite ugly and I hope it's not an aerodynamic development being tested.

It's sensors.

A bit like an aircraft pitot tube.
They can measure the wind speed and direction and the car speed out of the flow of the disturbed air that the car is in or is generating.
