Difficult question tbh.. I'd say that Jacques Villeneuve and Lewis Hamilton are a bit on the same level in their first year. Both were championship contenders and were 'better' than their teammate... But, my final vote goes to Vettel. Because I am sure that if he started his carreer in a car like a Williams-Renault (in 1996) or a McLaren (in 2007) he'd be the world champion.

Also, please:

Base this on their rookie year (and a half in some cases)
Base this on their impact in the sport
NO FANBOYISM please! Try and make this a fair poll, not just 'I dont like them so I'll vote for..

Ayrton Senna made impressive races with a Toleman

Michael Schumacher was impressive at Spa with the Jordan

No need to point their impact on the sport....it`s obvious.

All the others are ok, but most of them like Hamilton or Villeneuve started at top teams with fast cars, having already hundreds of milles of winter testing.

I was at Spa for Schumacher's first race, and as I recall he didn't even make it to the end of the start-finish straight. Yes, impressive in qualifying, but the racing is a different matter.

Why isn´t Jim Clark included?

He was immediately amongst the quickest in whatever car he was driving. His impact on the sport was immense and his talent was beyond imagination.
Sir Jackie Stewart (one of the best himself) said various times that in his oppinion Jim Clark was the best.

So I say Jim Clark, you could put him into an Aston Martin and he was quickest, you could put him into an F1 car and he was quickest, you could put him into a coach and he was quickest...no matter what.

Hamilton and Villeneuve are a joke compared to Jim Clark.

Schumacher also wasn´t as good as Jim straight away.

The only driver who entered F1 in a similar fashion was Senna.

The fact that 40% voted for Hamilton shows once again how deluded a lot of people are these days.

As I was a Schumi Fan when he was there, I always found Kimi a threat to Schumi.

I`ll vote for Kimi as the best Rookie.

Since I watch f1 I´ve never seen a rookie as competitive as hamilton. He could fight perfectly with alonso, actually, he was better than alonso in the first half of 2007 season (as well as alonso was better than him in the second half). He almost won the championship and finished in the same points as alonso, that has much merit for a rookie.
So I vote for Hamilton.

Kobayashi- only 2 races, but didn't crumble under pressure like most rookies.

I don't think you can judge somebody on two races.

I would vote for Montoya but since he's not on the list, i voted for Hamilton.
