Just FI and Williams have to agree and the FIA would probably allow Ferrari one day testing with this year's spec car.

If he doesn't win a race this season then it will be the first time since 1991 that he hasnt scored a win (in a season in which he has participated)

Incidentally, Kimi's P2 in Hungary was his best result since France 2008

Ferrari have written to FIA and other teams to ask whether Schumacher can do a day of testing in the F60

Subject: Request for MSC

‘Dear All,

‘As you are all aware of Michael Schumacher has accepted to evaluate the possibility to replace Felipe Massa until he will be able to compete again in the Championship.
‘Michael has however been away from F1 racing and from any kind of car racing since 2006 with the exception of a limited amount of testing for us in 2007.

‘In order to properly evaluate the possibility for his comeback we are therefore herewith requesting all competitors to the 2009 Championship as well as the FIA for the possibility to perform one day of official testing before the Valencia Grand Prix in derogation to Art. 22.1 c) of the 2009 Sporting Regulations and of the Testing Agreement. We would be grateful if you could confirm your agreement to the aforesaid.

‘With kind regards,
‘Massimo Rivola
‘Direttore Sportivo – Sporting Director’

Toro Rosso could have asked this for Alguersuari... he needed this even more.

Probably would be fair if in this testing Ferrari does not test new elements on the car. Just what was already put on track...

Just found this..

Austrian driver Lauda won the Formula 1 championship for Ferrari in 1975 and 1977, but quit motor racing to focus on running his airline. He returned with McLaren in 1982, and in 1984 landed his third world title.

Kimi unfazed by Schumacher return

Quote:
Kimi Raikkonen says he has no qualms about being joined in the Ferrari line-up if Michael Schumacher goes ahead with his plan to substitute for the injured Felipe Massa.

Schumacher has begun testing a 2007 Formula 1 Ferrari in a bid to see if he is fit enough for his intended comeback at the European Grand Prix.

Raikkonen insisted the identity of his team-mate was largely irrelevant to him, but welcomed news of Schumacher's return.

"For me it makes no difference who drives the second car," he said. "I don't think it is 100 per cent sure that he will drive as he is still checking things out.

"But it will be nice to have him as a team-mate. It nearly happened before."

Schumacher's comeback also received support from his former rival Juan Pablo Montoya.

The Colombian NASCAR racer, who had some memorable wheel to wheel battles with Schumacher before leaving F1 for stock cars, expects Schumacher to cope well, although he doubts the seven-time champion will improve on Raikkonen and Massa's recent results.

"I heard he was testing today already," said Montoya. "Physically he'll be fine with all the testing he'll do before that I think.

"Will he do a lot more than the current Ferrari drivers are doing? I'll be surprised but you know... you never know.

"I'm sure they're going to make sure that they come up with something new for his arrival to make sure he looks good."

Do you guys think this is kind of unfair? I mean Alguersuari is kinda doing the same thing for Bourdais that Schumi is doing for Massa (replacing a driver for the rest of the season). They should at least consider looking at the testing ban rules and revising it a little bit.

Plus, these are special conditions.
Ferrari didn't foresee this, STR did.
Massa had a terrible accident, Bourdais was sacked.
