bar555 wrote:The V-shaped raised chassis creates an air channel in front of the cockpit zone and therefore improves the management of airflow towards the rear of the car . Mc laren pioneered a similar design back in 1998 .
The raised bodywork is actually a separate part mounted on the chassis in case of Toyota and Brawn and thus no suspension element is possible to be housed inside it but for Red Bull it is different . The RB5 chassis is constructed once with a raised front bodywork and therefore it is possible for a different than usual front suspension’s elements position .

I believe Tyrrell was the sole team to start and end the season with the V Design but i'm not so good in F1 history so i might be mistaken

Jaguar ,
Tyrrel 026 in 1998 and Jordan J199 in 1999 had a deep cut at their nose in front of the cockpit zone but their front bodywork was not raised . A feature visually quite similar to the one described here but not structural similar as well .
GP BRAZIL

FRONT WING - BRAZIL
1.The tested version only featured endplates which sported a particularly sculpted entry profile at the bottom edge to increase the procuced downforce and reduce turbulence around the front wheels
2.The small wing’s support pillar was brought back to use
3.The small wing’s large endplate became curvy again
4.The endplate’s horizontal section featured a small semi-circular Venturi channel which helps to generate more downforce .
5.Enlarged gurney tab
6.Banco de Brasil sponsor logo
REAR WING - BRAZIL
At Interlagos Brawn BGP001 was equipped with a rear wing similar to the version used at Suzuka with the most striking difference between the two to be the addition of the Cerveja ITAIPAVA sponsor logo

Re: Brawn BGP001 aero-mech development in 2009
I really hadn't noticed too much of asymmetrical exhaust outlets until this year. Was that because of the new aero restrictions?

Re: Brawn BGP001 aero-mech development in 2009
Asymmetric exhaust outlets or asymmetric hot air exits is a common practice in F1 , depending on where the 2009 KERS unit or the oil tank is placed . Mc Laren MP4/21 featured asymmetric exhaust outlets during almost all 2006 season for instance .

BARGEBOARDS - BRAZIL
The barge-board profile changed dramatically at Brazil , especially at the top of the shields. These now feature a clear saw-tooth profile at its upper edge towards the rear . This helps in reducing turbulence and improving engine cooling
EXHAUSTS - BRAZIL
For the race the team preffered to use asymmetric exhaust outlets with the left one to be significally enlarged
